I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 123

Taking Care of Him

Harper paused and subconsciously frowned at Benjamin. The case of the bath was still so fresh in her mind that she refused without thinking. "I'll call Curtis." With that said, she immediately reached out to get her phone. However, the next moment, Benjamin raised his hand and pulled off the buttons of his shirt. One by one, they fell to the floor with a click, and his clothes were taken off.

Harper glanced at his strong body, revealing its well-defined and evenly distributed muscles. There were still beads of water on his handsome face. How sexy he was! Although on most occasions this would have been a compliment to a curvy girl, at the moment, Harper thought it most appropriate to describe Benjamin.

She coughed lightly and quickly looked away, suspecting that Benjamin had done it on purpose.Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.

His cold body sank under the warm covers, and then, finding a comparatively comfortable position, he fell asleep.

Harper sighed and turned on the heater before lying down next to him.

After getting married, they had slept in the same bed for almost a year and had done a lot of intimate things, so it wasn't necessary for her to make do with the sofa at this moment.

But Harper soon regretted it because Benjamin directly pulled her into his arms when she was about to fall asleep. He hugged her tightly with no intention of letting go.

When his breathing had steadied, she took his hand from her waist. Yet, only a few seconds later, he put it on her and embraced her hard again.

He said domineeringly in a low and hoarse voice, "Don't move."

Harper was stunned subconsciously, thinking, "Was he sober?"

She slept for another three hours. At eight o'clock sharp in the morning, her alarm rang.

Today, with her plans set for the construction site, she could afford to skip the office and extend her stay, yet Benjamin remained motionless, deep in slumber. Harper whispered, "Benjamin?"

Benjamin turned over and didn't respond.

Harper reached out to push him, but as soon as her fingertips touched his shoulder, she felt something was wrong.

He was burning hot.

Frowning, Harper immediately woke him up, but Benjamin murmured in a daze, "Stop it."

Harper got out of bed and took his temperature with a thermometer from the small medical kit, which was all prepared by Julie for her in case of an emergency. The five-minute wait was a bit long, but she already suspected that he might have a fever.

Five minutes later, the thermometer showed 102 degrees Fahrenheit.

With a serious face, Harper hurriedly said, "Benjamin, get up. You have a fever. Let's go to the hospital."

Anyway, Benjamin was unwilling. "I'll be fine after taking a nap."

He felt pretty dizzy. Probably because he hadn't had a cold for so long, so it was unusually severe. Unconscious and feeble, he just wanted to lie down and sleep.

Harper failed to persuade and couldn't bear to disturb him. There was an unspeakable feeling in her heart.

She was guilty of leaving him alone in the bathtub last night.

She purchased fever-reducing medicine through a delivery app and quickly cooked some soup for him.

While waiting for the medicine to arrive, she called Sophia. "I don't have time in the morning. Get busy with something else at the office. You'll get my call once I'm free this afternoon."

As the call ended, the medicine was delivered.

Harper asked Benjamin to get up and take medicine and served him soup. Since there were no clothes for him in the apartment, she had just ordered two very ordinary T-shirts. They instantly appeared high- end on him.

After taking the medicine, Benjamin felt a little more energetic. Harper asked, "You'd better go to the hospital."
