I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 127

Wipe My Body

Staring at the pills in his palm, Benjamin narrowed his deep eyes slightly. Then, he opened the drawer on the side, wrapped it with tissue, and stuffed it into the innermost part.

He was drinking, his head held high, when Harper entered. Afterward, she said, "Yinson said you need to eat to boost your immunity, so you should eat more."

Benjamin said yes and finished the food that Harper had brought in.

She thought he would get better gradually, but in the middle of the night, he had a fever again.

His body radiated heat like a furnace. Harper forced him to take medicine, but he grabbed her hand, tried to wave it away, and said, "I'm burning hot. Wipe my body." Harper frowned, "Can you take your medicine first? Physical cooling is useless if you don't take your medicine."

"Are you unwilling?"

Harper didn't speak.

Benjamin continued, "Are you annoyed with me? Grandpa said he would introduce Harry to you. Are you willing to meet him?"NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

Harper was stunned.

She thought, "Shouldn't he take his medicine now?

Why did it suddenly involve Harry?"

Indeed, she had forgotten all about it long ago.

Paul must be joking. Even if it were true, he would take action before securing her consent.

Harper was very helpless and said, "Benjamin, are you sure you want to talk about this now?"

"If you don't want to talk, wipe my body."

Harper took a deep breath to suppress her anger.

Benjamin asked calmly, "I have a fever from soaking in cold bathwater most of the night. Are you not willing to help me cool down by wiping my body?"

Harper said coldly, "Take your medicine. It's getting late. I want to sleep."

With that said, she lifted the quilt and lay down.

Benjamin turned over and held her down, staring at her with his deep eyes. "Harper, you have become more and more ruthless towards me recently. What do you want?" Her bright face gradually betrayed some intense emotions as her eyes gradually darkened.

Harper avoided his direct gaze and said, "Benjamin, you should ask yourself this question. What exactly do you want to do?"

Benjamin narrowed his eyes with a gloomy and cold face. "Is it difficult for you to wipe my body? Where was your gentle look before? Was it all a sham to deceive me?"

He reached out and pinched her chin. His words and his dignified aura were evident proof of his displeasure.

Harper said, "I thought you'd rather have Lauren help you than me."

"Harper, you're being irritating. Why can you always tie me to Lauren in any matter at any time?"

Benjamin was in a rage, almost gnashing his teeth.

But Harper was always quiet, calm, and expressionless.

She said, "This is a fact. I am not deliberately making it up. After all, from the beginning, you asked for a divorce to marry Lauren. Why are you procrastinating and unwilling to do so now?" She looked into his eyes. They were so close that they could see themselves in each other's eyes.

Before he could answer, she added, "Benjamin, are you in love with me? Is this why you don't want a divorce?"

Harper's questions sent a hush to the room.

His steady, even breathing reminded her that time was not suspended, but that he was silent.

Harper laughed at herself in her mind. It was another reminder that broke her heart.

She pondered, "He won't fall in love with me.

He doesn't want me to associate him with Lauren to avoid the perception that our marriage ends because of her, nor does he want anyone to harbor negative feelings towards her.

How much he loves Lauren!

Even these minor details can be handled perfectly."
