I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 129

Are You There?

Frank furrowed his eyebrows. His handsome face was expressionless, and his eyes widened in disbelief.

Noticing his feelings, Benjamin narrowed his eyes and said indifferently, "Mr. Parker, we don't need these things that you brought us, and it's not suitable to invite you in now. Goodbye."

With that said, he immediately tried to close the door, but Frank subconsciously pressed his feet against the door and shouted, "Harper, are you there?"

His voice was so loud that Harper naturally heard it.

Harper had assumed it was an auditory hallucination. The range hood was on, blocking her from the noise outside. Now, she heard it and came out.

She saw Benjamin about to shut the door and Frank pressing his foot against the crack in the door. She asked, "What are you doing?"

Benjamin stood motionless. Frank took advantage of this moment to push the door open.

He whispered, "Harper, learning that you've moved out, I am worried about you, so I bought some of your favorite food and came over to cook you a meal." Harper quickly reached out to take the ingredients in his hand. "You don't have to prepare these. I have everything here."

"It's all right, but whether I buy it or not is my business. It's a bit heavy. Let me carry it. Where is the kitchen?"

Harper pointed, and Frank had already strode towards the kitchen with his load.

Benjamin was still standing at the door, with one hand on the doorknob. His displeasure was evident. "Harper, you let him come in openly in front of me." "Frank is my friend. Don't you already know this? I shouldn't turn away friends when they come as guests."

Benjamin became increasingly annoyed and exuded a chill.

He remained silent.

Harper didn't know what to say.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

The atmosphere was quiet for a moment.

"Harper, is there a pot for soup?" Frank's voice came from the kitchen.

Harper looked at Benjamin before hurrying to the kitchen.

Watching her receding figure and her ultimately standing side by side with Frank in the kitchen, Benjamin felt a pang of jealousy.

His handsome and cold face was a little pale because of the fever. Besides, his eyes were bloodshot because he hadn't slept well.

He glared at Frank and Harper in the kitchen. At the sight of the annoying and dazzling smile on Harper's face, he couldn't hold back his anger anymore.

After slamming the door, Benjamin strode to the kitchen, grabbed Harper's hand, and led her toward the bedroom.

Harper struggled instinctively, but Benjamin held her tightly and wouldn't let go until the bedroom door was closed. He pushed her against the door and stared at her expressionlessly. "Kick him out. I don't want to see him."

His hot breath fell in her ears along with his deep voice. To her surprise, it sounded a bit like a plea.

He even pinched her waist to prevent her from hiding.

Harper lifted her gaze, met his handsome face mere inches away, and said calmly, "This is quite impolite."

"So you have to make me angry just to be polite."

Harper frowned and didn't understand how the two conflicted.

She asked, "Benjamin, why are you angry? He just came to see me and cooked a meal for me as a friend. You are also here, aren't you?"

"Would you let him in if I was not here?"

"If you weren't here, I would have gone to the company by now."

"You are being unreasonable. Harper, don't forget that you are still married."

He fixed his eyes on her and tightened his grip on her waist. For an instant, Harper felt as if he would strangle her.
