Chapter 155
Upset
Benjamin's face was tensed, and his eyes exuded intense indifference.
He narrowed his eyes, his tone icy. "Get out of here before I want to do anything to you."
Harper stood her ground, showing no intention to leave.
She said, "Since I can't convince you to continue our cooperation, don't I at least have the right to have you sign the divorce agreement I've sent you and take it with me?" "Harper, can't you understand what I'm saying? Are you trying to make me angry?"
"Benjamin, didn't you say you don't want to see me anymore? Then hurry up and sign the papers so I can disappear from your sight and spare you the annoyance."
"Harper!" His voice was low and hoarse as he called her name. Just one word, yet the intensity of his anger was palpable.
Harper looked at him expressionlessly and replied calmly, "Benjamin, we're divorcing. I won't ask for anything. I'm leaving with just the clothes on my back. And you still not happy with it?" "Get out!" he shouted, pointing to the office door. He didn't want to hear another word from her.
Their eyes locked, and Harper pressed her lips lightly. She knew if she said anything more, Benjamin wouldn't let her off easily. So, after giving him a deep look, she turned and walked out.
A loud crash echoed from behind her as soon as she stepped out of the office. Benjamin had nearly knocked everything off his desk.
He loosened his tie. He was furious.
The thought of Harper pushing him to sign the divorce agreement only darkened his handsome face.
When Curtis entered the office and saw the mess, he asked cautiously, "Mr. Martin, Ms. Davis is here. Should I let her in?"
Benjamin's cold gaze swept over Curtis, chilling him to the bone.
Curtis didn't dare to ask further and quickly exited the office. Then, he approached Lauren, who was waiting outside, and whispered, "Ms. Davis, Mr. Martin is not available to see you at the moment. Would you like to wait or come back later?"
Lauren lightly pressed her lips and glanced instinctively at Harper, who was not far away waiting for the elevator. They had just met briefly, but she was urgent to see Benjamin, hence no conversation was shared with Harper. But now, hearing that Benjamin claimed to be busy, she presumed it was just an excuse.
She withdrew her gaze casually. "Since Benjamin is busy, I'll leave for now. Let me know when he's available. I'll come over then."
Curtis nodded slightly. "Alright, Ms. Davis. Take care."
Lauren cast a deep glance at the closed office door before walking away.
When she reached the elevator, she noticed Harper was still waiting, but Harper didn't seem to acknowledge her presence.
Lauren smiled and lowered her voice, "Harper, did you upset Benjamin? Are you eager to divorce him because you've fallen for someone else?"
Harper remained silent, ignoring her.
But Lauren persisted. "If you've feelings for someone else, just tell Benjamin straight up. Don't let him take the heat from his grandfather. You come out clean, yet he has to bear all the consequences for you." "Are you done?" Harper turned around, her expression cold as she stared at Lauren. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.
