Madam Quartley prioritized maintaining peace in the Quartley Palace. She wasn't going to stir up any sudden storms.

"Madam Quartley, you have to help me! I can't stand such slander!" Yuliana wailed pitifully. Madam Quartley however remained unfazed. "Madam Quartley really was going senile!" Yuliana quietly cursed.

She couldn't say such things in front of Madam Quartley. She continued to act hurt and pitiful in front of her.

Then, Madam Quartley began to speak.

Her usual turbulent eyes showed a rare moment of clarity as she asked, "Yuliana, you mean to tell me that Yesseca had come all the way to Nashaland to pretend to be Montez's mother, just so she can get to Tremaine?"

"That's right!" Yuliana continued, "She had left Nashaland on purpose! She expected Tremaine to beg her to return, but she realized that he wasn't going to. She panicked and rushed back to Nashaland to get him back!"

"If she really meant to do that, she wouldn't have threatened you." Madan Quartley reasoned.

Although she may be confused, she was still sharp to these details.

In other words, she was well aware of what was going on.

But as things were, she dislike Yesseca and naturally favored Yuliana, as she was her granddaughter-in-law.

She despised Yesseca because of this.

But there was a reason why she didn't take Yuliana's side right away.

She didn't want to cause any unnecessary trouble.

She was getting old!

She was so old, she noticed her senses dulling.

She was too old to go causing problems for other people anymore.

Now all she hoped for was for everyone to get along peacefully.

If there were any disagreements that could be resolved peacefully, she would take that option.

There was no point in having endless squabbles anymore.

Yuliana was shocked to hear Madam Quartley say this.

After hesitating for a moment, Yuliana pressed, "Yes, Madam Quartley I agree with you! But you should know what kind of person Yesseca is! She's always looked down on everyone!"

Madam Quartley sighed.

She looked at Yuliana and said, "Yuliana, know you very well by now. You must have said something to her to have caused her to

threaten you in the first place."

Yuliana's face turned red from embarrassment.

She was confused now.

"Was the old lady actually going senile or had she been pretending to be?"

This morning she assumed that Madam Quartley was going senile, but now, she realized that she was still very sharp in her senses.

"What could I even say to her? I wouldn't dare say anything to her at all." Yuliana murmured.

Madam Quartley didn't respond. She was obviously done talking.

Yuliana then said, "Madam Quartley, it's one thing to keep quiet when your granddaughter-in-law is being slandered, but are you going to keep quiet and just watch your great-grandson get used and destroyed by Yesseca?! She pretended to be his mother! How cruel of her!"

Madam Quartley didn't think this was the case.

She had already figured it out.

She asked, "How did Yesseca know that Montez's school was celebrating Mother's Day?"

Yuliana looked at her in silence.

Madam Quartley then said, "Montez told me a very different story Yuliana! He told me that he invited Yesseca! He wanted her to pretend to be his mother!"

Madam Quartley had known all along.

This was why Montez had been so distant this morning. He wasn't upset with her, he simply didn't want her to find out what he had planned. That he had called Yesseca over.
