Kane tilted his head with a proud grin, saying, "This is my future sister-in-law. So she's got to be just as impressive as my brother!"
Upon hearing this, Shawn and Sinnova exchanged glances, both realizing that it made complete sense. If she wasn't strong enough, how could she possibly hold her own against Satan?
After what seemed like an eternity of awkward photos, Charmaine finally retreated backstage.
She removed her makeup and pulled her phone out of the locked cabinet. As soon as she unlocked it, dozens of messages popped up.
The most notable one was from Rex. "Boss, you were incredible! I almost jumped out of my seat cheering for you!!"
Charmaine chuckled as she typed a reply, "If you'd actually jumped, I guarantee you wouldn't be able to do it again."
Rex replied, "Boss, you're ruthless, but I love it!"
Charmaine shook her head with a smile, thinking that Rex was beyond saving.
Just then, her phone rang.
As soon as she answered, Celeste's excited voice blasted through the speaker, a mix of laughter and tears. "Charmaine, you're amazing!! You played so well!!
"Oh, it feels so good!! How did you manage to knock Leah off the stage? That line you said? It made the Nelsons furious! They never appreciated you, and they'll regret it forever!"
Charmaine held the phone away for a moment to give Celeste a chance to calm down before pulling it back to her ear.
"Did Elvia find you?"
"Yeah, Ms. Rue is out there signing the guarantee. I'll come to you soon to celebrate tonight!"
Charmaine reassured her, "Don't worry. There will be more chances to perform."
"Okay! Next time, you have to play again! I love hearing you play. It's so beautiful!"noveldrama
Charmaine felt speechless.
Great, now I've lost another one.
Just as Charmaine ended the call, the door flew open with a shout.
"Charmaine! Get out here!"
Olympia stormed in, with Leah following behind her, clutching her right hand and looking pitiful.
Despite the staff members around, Olympia wasn't even trying to hide her fury anymore.

"For your own glory, you actually broke Leah's hand? Get out here, I'm going to show everyone what kind of woman you really are!" Olympia spat, her sharp nails flashing as she aimed a vicious swipe at Charmaine.
The force of the strike was so strong that it seemed like it could tear through Charmaine's skin if she wasn't careful.
Charmaine narrowed her eyes, her voice cold and calm. "Mrs. Nelson, do you plan on embarrassing yourself in front of everyone?"
"You little..."
Olympia froze, her hand hanging in midair as she met Charmaine's unflinching stare. She remembered the last time Charmaine fought back, how she had no chance of winning.
With a low growl, Olympia dropped her hand, but instead of striking, she jabbed her finger toward Charmaine's face.
Seeing Charmaine's defiant stance, as though she wasn't taking her seriously at all, Olympia's anger grew, but there was nothing she could do.
Charmaine smirked, her eyes flicking over to Leah, who was hiding behind Olympia, silently mocking her.
"Did Leah tell you that I broke her hand?" Charmaine asked casually.
Her indifferent tone made Leah flinch, as though she had been startled.
Leah quickly pulled Olympia's hand down, pleading, "Mom, Charmaine had nothing to do with my injury. Let's just go home ... "
Olympia slapped her hand away, fuming with rage. How dare Leah defend Charmaine after everything she's gone through? It made her blood boil!
She was furious, her eyes burning with accusation as she glared at Leah. "When are you going to stop defending her? If it weren't for Charmaine locking you in that room, you wouldn't have gotten hurt! If you had gone on stage, all the applause, the praise, everything would've been yours. We would've taken photos with the Elders, and no one would have mocked us. We wouldn't be the laughingstock of the whole summit!"
Charmaine's heart sank as she realized just how twisted Olympia's logic was.
No wonder Leah is always the favorite-truly, like mother, like daughter. Olympia's venomous words hung in the air, but suddenly, a quiet chuckle echoed from outside the room.
It was cold, sarcastic, and completely out of place in the tense atmosphere. Olympia spun around in fury. "Who dared to laugh?!"
