Chapter 2007
Torah noticed the divine power descending from the sky. Realizing he could not remain passive any longer, he gritted his teeth and bit into the tentacles binding him. With determined effort, he tore the monster's tentacles in half. "Today, you're food on a plate!" he declared.
Freed from the monster's grasp, Torah charged at it again. With a powerful tackle, he sent the gigantic creature flying several meters. Torah pinned the tentacled monster down and opened his mouth, gathering flames. "I'll make you into grilled squid!"
Boom!
The fireball shot out, but the tentacle monster countered with a powerful jet of water, neutralizing the fireball and breaking free from Torah's hold. Torah climbed out of the rubble once more, only to see the monster sprout a large eye on its head while emitting purple mist. On the ground, terrifying monsters began to appear. These creatures attacked the soldiers and Espers indiscriminately and ruthlessly. As the monsters advanced with eerie steps and low growls, Torah found himself retreating.
"Kid! Don't back down!" Cormick shouted from the ground.
"Commander Cormick?"
"That thing thrives on fear! Half my body is missing because of it. As long as you're not afraid, it can't touch you! So, don't be scared and charge at it!"
"Got it!"
Torah stared at the large eyeball in front of him, his gaze firm and unwavering. Without hesitation, he rushed toward the monster. Just as he was about to strike, a figure flashed before his eyes.
It was his mother, running away.
She had hidden the young Torah behind a pile of rocks but was brutally killed by those beings herself.
Those beings were gods.
To their understanding, dragonkin were a race that should not exist as they challenged the gods' authority in certain aspects. Thus, the gods initiated a 'dragon hunt'.
Torah's people were all slaughtered overnight at their hands, and now, he harbored a clear hatred toward the gods.
"On what grounds? Why is it wrong
for dragonkin to exist? No! They're the ones who are wrong! They're demons who call themselves gods! I will defeat them all!" noveldrama
"Enough." Torah's mother embraced him tightly.
"I'm sorry. It's my fault, it's my fault. You shouldn't have to bear all of this... It's my fault."
"Mother? Why are you apologizing? Clearly, they="
"It's all my fault."
Torah's mother, the queen of the dragonkin, had committed an act that neither the gods nor her people could accept. She had fallen in love with a god.
That god had once saved her when
she was weak, and she taught the god things other than fighting. One day, the other gods found out about them. After that, the hunt started. en
"They're coming after us!" the god said. "You go! Go, Skye! Leave this to me."
