No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Chapter 186

Donovan frowned. "What is she doing here? I bet it's not for anything good!"

Ever since Noelle handed him the severance agreement, Donovan had been too upset to sleep properly the night before.

"This is actually good news. Mr. Benedict Graham from Yole University admissions office came to discuss Noelle's application with her." Lionel deliberately phrased it this way.

Even he couldn't understand why the Liddells wouldn't let Noelle attend Yole University. He couldn't help but wonder if the Liddells had lost their minds.

Donovan's expression immediately darkened. "Didn't I already turn down the offer from the admissions office at Yole University?"

Lionel responded, "This is Noelle's own choice. She has the right to make her own decisions, and no one has the right to stop her."

"No! I won't allow it!" Donovan shouted, looking directly at Noelle. "With your personality, you'll just cause trouble if you go to Yasnia. Who's going to look after you then? Studying locally is the best choice for you."

When Xenia heard that Noelle could go to Yole University, jealousy and

resentment bubbled up inside her. Why could Noelle easily get the offer, but she couldn't?

Xenia pretended to be sweet and said, "Yes, Noelle, why don't you stay here and study with me? You'll have your family to protect you. It's much better than going so far away."

Noelle smirked. "How could someone who can't even pass the college entrance exam get into Yole University? Dream on. Don't you feel ashamed expecting me to settle for your level? Have some self-respect."

Xenia was stunned by Noelle's sharp words. Her face turned red with embarrassment.

The admissions staff came out and walked straight to Donovan, shaking his hand. "Mr. Liddell, she is truly outstanding. If she doesn't attend Yole University, it would be such a waste."

Donovan's expression grew tense. Even he was surprised by Noelle's impressive progress.

He replied coldly, "Noelle has never gone far from home. She isn't suited for Yasnia."

Just then, Noelle interrupted, "Did you forget that I signed the severance agreement with you yesterday? I'm no longer part of the Liddell family. You have no say in my future."

Donovan's face reddened in frustration. "Noelle, you've really gotten ahead of yourself, haven't you? Do you think you're so special just because you topped the exams? After graduation, you'll still have to rely on the Liddell family!"

The admissions staff immediately let go of Donovan's hand and turned to Noelle.

"Noelle, don't worry about your employment. Yole University has more than

enough credibility."

Then, the admissions staff

deliberately added, "I've never seen such bias. You must be out of your mind to make a national top scorer attend the same university as someone who didn't even make it into college."

Donovan's temper flared, and he became even more irritated with Noelle. "Noelle,

are you satisfied now? What's there to be so proud of?"

Noelle scoffed. "Well, I'm pretty satisfied, considering I'm the top student in the

city. Some people can't even get into a basic university without cheating."

Xenia's face turned crimson with anger. "I didn't cheat! Betty begged me for a long time to let her copy my test answers!"

Lionel couldn't stand it any longer. "Has Betty shown up?"

At that moment, a couple dressed in plain clothes and wearing calculative gazes walked over. "Mr. Kramer, Betty admitted to cheating, but she's too guilty to face the school. She ran away. We've come to take responsibility for her actions."

Noelle felt something was off as soon as she heard this.

She glanced at Xenia, whose expression seemed unusually calm, as if she had expected this outcome.

Could it be that Gwen's story was playing out all over again?noveldrama

Noelle said, "Mr. Kramer, I think it's best if Betty comes to the school in person to make it official."

What if Xenia had bribed Betty's parents?
