Lenora and Zachary Chapter 505
Chapter 505 In Your Name
"Don't worry, it's enough, and it won't cost you anything."
"Do you have that much money?" Sophia's eyes lit up in surprise.
Zephyr was once a penniless kid who depended on financial aid to pay his tuition fees in high school. Yet, within seven years, even with discounts and support from Matthew, he must have accumulated at least over eighty million. Does venture capital really make that much money?
"Not really. After buying the house, I'd have to starve myself."
"No worries, I can cover the rent!" Sophia generously offered.
In no time, the saleswoman approached them with a smile. She presented the property purchase agreement and handed them a pen. "Mr. Yankovich, Ms. Tortell, please sign the agreement."
Zephyr took the pen and handed it to Sophia. "You sign it."
Sophia froze, glancing at the pen in her hand and then back at Zephyr. She pointed at her nose. "Me?"
"Mm-hmm." Zephyr nodded. "The property deed will be in your name."
Upon hearing this, the saleswoman nearby cast an envious glance at Sophia.
Her boyfriend is handsome and wealthy, not to mention extremely generous. Why haven't I encountered such a man?
Sophia was surprised. She fiddled with the pen and shyly said, "How could I accept that?"
"It's a gift for you. Just sign it."
"All right then," Sophia said, her face showing a mix of resignation and helplessness. Trying to hide her smile, she quickly signed her name.
Internally, she was doubled over, laughing uproariously without a shred of grace. Outwardly, however, she maintained her poise. She set down the pen, adjusted a strand of hair near her temples, and looked at Zephyr. "Okay, no take-backs now."
"Of course." Zephyr observed her, finding her expression-caught between wanting to laugh and trying to hold it back-irresistibly amusing.
The saleswoman brought over the card machine.
Zephyr pulled out his wallet, drew out a black card, and handed it to her. "No password."
The saleswoman swiped the card, and the card machine printed out a receipt. Zephyr then signed his name on it.
The saleswoman began gathering all the documents and placing them into a folder. "Mr. Yankovich, Ms. Tortell, Mansion No. 7 of River Creek Residences is now yours. Here are the keys and the access card. Please keep them safe. Normally, the gate uses facial recognition for unlocking. Later, you can both record your facial details at property management. Additionally, we'll need a photocopy of your ID, Ms. Tortell, for the property deed. Did you bring your ID with you?"
"Yes."
Sophia rummaged through her bag, pulling out her wallet. She handed her ID to the saleswoman while casually asking, "When can we expect the property deed to be finalized?"
"Once everything is settled in about two weeks, I'll get in touch with the two of you."
The saleswoman made a quick photocopy, then returned Sophia's ID card. "All done. You two can now go and check out your new home."
"Thank you."noveldrama
""I'm so excited!"
After leaving the sales office, Sophia twirled around in joy. Her eyes sparkled brightly, and her lips held a smile that just wouldn't fade.
Though she wasn't certain if Zephyr could reclaim the house through a lawsuit, the fact that she now owned a mansion of considerable value made her happy.
Zephyr adjusted his glasses and stepped forward with a smile. "Let's go. Let's check out our new home."
"Okay."
Sophia laughed, showing off her pearly white teeth. She playfully nudged Zephyr with her elbow, her eyes sparkling with amusement as she tilted her head to look at him. "Hey, Zephyr, what made you decide to put the property in my name?" "Hmm... I believe this is the only way your parents would agree to us getting married next month."
"Then let's head back to my place tomorrow. We can bring it up with my parents and start making preparations."
Considering the prestige of this mansion, she would not only agree to marry him next month but would also be willing to marry him as soon as tomorrow.
After all, it was a sham marriage.
The mansion was vast, providing ample space for the two of them to have their own independence without disturbing each other. She could act as if he didn't exist.
"All right."
The mansion featured three small gardens, which were only covered with lawns at that time.
In the southern garden, they could see the majestic river right before their eyes.
A wave of humidity hit Sophia's face, diminishing the summer heat and adding a touch of coolness. The hustle and bustle had given way to the sounds of nature. Even the air felt noticeably fresher than in the city center.
Sophia's eyes twinkled with
excitement as she pointed to a
corner of the garden and began to envision the future. "I want to plant some roses here and set up a grape trellis. By next summer, we can relax here, enjoying the flowers and t
river view while having a barbecue. It will be absolutely beautiful."
"Of course," Zephyr replied with a smile. "As long as it makes you happy, we'll do it your way."
Sophia glanced at him, offering a small smile. "Come on, let's go inside and take a look."
Upon returning home, Sophia couldn't wait to share the great news with Lenora.
Lenora hadn't expected Zephyr to be so generous. "It seems he's made quite a fortune over these past few years." Whether or not Zephyr might reclaim the house in the future, his attitude alone was enough to endear him to others.
"He's truly impressive," Sophia
chimed in, feeling a sudden surge of
pride. "Back in high school, he was our class president. Not only did he excel academically, but he also managed our class with great efficiency. Even the troublemakers at the back of the class respected him."
Why else would she have taken a liking to Zephyr, let alone pursued him actively?
"Hmm." Lenora raised an eyebrow.
Sophia turned her head to find Lenora looking at her with a mix of curiosity and amusement. Lenora's expression made Sophia's ear tips blush. "I was just saying."
"Soph, did Zephyr win you over with just a single mansion?"
"Who could say no to money? That's no small amount!"
"Why not consult a lawyer first to see if Zephyr has any chance of reclaiming the house given your current situation? If it turns out he can't, it seems Zephyr has shown real sincerity this time." Well, it wouldn't be accurate to say he was extremely sincere, but rather, he was fairly sincere.
He must have invested all of his initial capital, given the large amount of money involved.
"All right, I'll ask."
Minutes later, Sophia leaped up from the couch, bubbling with excitement. She bounced around, shouting, "Oh my god, oh my god!"
Lenora quickly asked, "What did the lawyer say? Can Zephyr not reclaim it in the future? Is the house entirely yours now?"
Sophia nodded eagerly, her
excitement spilling over as she said,
"The lawyer said this would be considered a pre-marital gift. If we
had signed a gift agreement with the intention of marriage, it could be reclaimed. But we didn't sign any agreement; we were just planning on having a ceremony. Zephyr knew it was a sham marriage and still gifted it to me, so it can't be taken back! The house is now mine!"
Sophia danced around in the living room unabashedly, laughing heartily.
Her perspective shifted. Suddenly, Zephyr's silent departure from years ago no longer seemed so unbearable.
Otherwise, he might not have been able to earn enough money to buy her a grand mansion.
"Holy smokes, Soph, you've struck gold! That's a mansion worth a hundred million! Aren't you going to treat me to a meal?"
"Sure! Choose any restaurant in Jacaster. It's your call. This girl is loaded!"
What do you think?
