Lenora and Zachary Chapter 511
Chapter 511 So Stubborn
Jasmine clenched her fists for a moment before relaxing them. "Let's head back to the hotel first."
Before getting out of the car at the hotel, Jasmine instructed her assistant, "Find out more about Ms. Wilson's background."
The assistant was momentarily taken aback, but he simply nodded without further questioning.
The following morning, he faithfully relayed to Jasmine the information he had gathered.
Isla's mother, Meredith, was Matthew's younger sister. During her early years of studying abroad, she met her husband, Bjorn. They had their wedding in Fairlake and were blessed with a son and a daughter.
However, when her son was just over a year old, her mother passed away. With her son in tow, she traveled to Jacaster to mourn her death. Unexpectedly, her son went missing in Jacaster. It was only after more than a decade that he was found and he was none other than Zephyr.
Her daughter was none other than Isla, whom they had encountered at the police station.
It had been many years since Isla last visited Jacaster.
During this visit, she reunited with her and Zachary's daughter, Harrietta. Moreover, she had further intentions.
Upon hearing this, Jasmine abruptly interrupted her assistant, looking shocked. "What did you say? She's with Zachary? Harrietta is her daughter with Zachary?"
Before this, Jasmine hadn't thoroughly investigated. She had assumed that Harrietta was the child of Lenora and Zachary, but it turned out to be quite a surprise.
"Yes, I found out that not long ago, Zachary and Harrietta visited the Xenos family. Harrietta was originally a child adopted by Zachary and Lenora. The day after her true identity was revealed, Lenora moved out of the house she shared with Zachary..." Jasmine swallowed hard, calming herself for a moment. "What on earth is going on?"
"The Fuller and Xenos families have kept the matter tightly under wraps, making it impossible to uncover anything. However, it appears to have some connection with Zachary's aunt, Tamara."
After some thought, Jasmine asked, "Tell me more about it. What else does Isla want?"
"Ms. Isla is in love with Mr. Fuller. After reuniting with her daughter, she wanted to pursue her relationship with Zachary further, not only to fulfill her own desires but also to provide a nurturing environment for her daughter."
Jasmine lowered her gaze, taking a moment to ponder.
"All right, I understand. You may leave now."
"Understood."
"Wait." The assistant made his way to the door when Jasmine suddenly called out to him again.
"What else can I do for you, Mrs. Hoffman?"
"Give the police station a call. Tell them I'll be coming by to see Ms. Wilson shortly."
"Why do you want to see her, Mrs. Hoffman?" The assistant couldn't help but ask, utterly astonished.
Jasmine's expression darkened.
Realizing he had misspoken, the assistant quickly said, "I'll call them right away."
Half an hour later, Jasmine showed up again at the entrance of the police station.
Someone guided her to the interrogation room.
After Zephyr left the interrogation room with a chilling demeanor, panic consumed Isla.noveldrama
She didn't know how long she was going to be held there, or if she would truly be convicted and sentenced.
Isla took a deep breath.
Zephyr probably wouldn't dare to do such a thing.
He must have intended to scare me a bit and make me realize my mistake. He will surely come to pick me up in the evening.
It has to be this.
When he comes back, all I need to do is apologize sincerely.
It's been a night, and there's still no news from Uncle Matthew. It's as if he's forgotten about me. Zephyr must have persuaded him. D*mn you, Zephyr!
Sophia is unharmed. Why won't he let me out?
Once I'm released, I'll have Dad teach him a proper lesson!
Just as Isla was contemplating her revenge, the sudden sound of a door opening echoed from outside.
It can't be Zephyr. He just left. Even if he wants to scare me, there's no way he will return that quickly.
Is Uncle Matthew here to take me out?
The thought crossed Isla's mind just as an unfamiliar woman walked in. Instantly, her heart sank in disappointment. She shot the woman a cold glance before turning away in frustration. At this moment, Isla couldn't think of anyone else the woman who came to see her could be other than Sophia's mother.
Jasmine's gaze remained fixed on Isla's face, and she unconsciously slowed her pace.
Unbidden memories of the past surged in her mind, suddenly creating a surreal, dreamlike sensation.
Upon catching sight of the expression on Jasmine's face, Isla dismissed it as mere pretense and scoffed coldly.
Regaining her composure, Jasmine approached Isla with a complex expression. She slowly pulled out a chair and sat down. "You're Isla Wilson, aren't you? Do you know who I am?" "Who you are is none of my business," Ilia sneered. "Officer, who let her in?"
"Isla, calm down," Jasmine said gently.
"Get lost! Stop playing the saint here. It's absolutely disgusting!"
"Isla..."
"I don't want to talk to you. Now, won't you just get out of my face?"
"I heard there's been some friction between you and Nora. I want to apologize on her behalf. Nora is still a child who doesn't fully understand the world. Her personality is cold and indifferent, and even I can't control her. I'm sorry for the trouble she's caused. Since you're not welcoming me, rest assured that I
won't bother you again in the future."
After speaking, Jasmine rose to leave.
Isla was momentarily stunned. "How insincere of you. If you believe Lenora was in the wrong, then have her come and apologize to me."
So she's Lenora's mother, not Sophia's.
Regardless of whose mother she is, none of them are any good.
"Nora wasn't with me growing up, and she hasn't listened to me as an adult. You wouldn't know, but a while ago, because of some minor disagreements, she was so stubborn and obsessive that she almost ruined her cousin's life."
The hostility in Isla's eyes diminished slightly when she heard that. "You are surprisingly reasonable, but it's unfortunate that you ended up with such a daughter. If you believe Lenora has wronged me, then you should find a way to get me out of here." "I'm afraid this is not something I have control over."
Isla's face fell again. "I knew you'd take your daughter's side. Are you done talking? If you are, then get lost."
"I recently discovered that Harrietta
is your daughter with Zachary. You two make such a perfect pair. I've met the child-she's smart and adorable. If the three of you could it
live together as a family, I'm sure would be a very happy and
harmonious household."
"Hmph, why are you telling me this? It's all because of your precious daughter's fault!" A glint of jealousy flashed in Isla's eyes.
"You are the daughter of the Wilson
family, Matthew's niece, and you
have a child with Zachary.
Meanwhile, Nora is just an
illegitimate daughter. How could she be worthy of Zachary? This is
exactly why their relationship
has
been so turbulent; it won't end well. Rest assured, I'll find a way to make her step back. From now on, don't lower yourself to her level. As her mother, this is the only thing I can do for her. I hope she stops being so stubborn."
"If you can really convince her to back off, I'll be generous and let her off the hook," Isla said, leaning back in her chair and folding her arms smugly.
What do you think?
