Chapter 3302
From how Trenton saw it, their parents loved Carrie the most.
They only gave him their assets because he told them about her outrageous spending behavior. With Aunt Brenda and Aunt Amy keeping an eye on her, he was also worried that Carrie would get tricked. Therefore, their parents decided to listen to him and let him inherit everything to protect their assets.
"Out of everyone in the family, I've only been meeting up with you. If you keep mentioning our parents, telling me what to do, and quarreling with me, then I'll stop contacting you. I can't be any more miserable than I am now anyway."
With Mr. Longbottom as her backer, Carrie also had all the money she needed. As long as she carried out the tasks he assigned her well, she would have more than enough savings even if he were to abandon her afterward.
She did not need her family.
Trenton thought Carrie was beyond saving.
He did not want to persuade her anymore as they would always end up quarreling.
He quietly paid the bill and brought her to a restaurant.
After eating, Trenton took her to search for a house. Once the house rental was settled, he accompanied her to purchase daily necessities.
It was already eleven at night by the time they were done.
"It's late. I'll be heading back now."
Trenton looked at the time and decided against staying to help Carrie clean the house.
He said, "This house is clean. You can sleep after putting on the bed sheet. If you want to do some cleaning, I can help you out once I'm free tomorrow evening."
He kept a duplicate key so it would be convenient for him to come over in the future.
Carrie replied, "You can go home. Be careful on your way back and send me a message once you've arrived. Don't tell Camryn that I'm living here. I don't want to interact with her at all. I utterly despise her.
"I'm going crazy with jealousy seeing her happy now."
Carrie made no secret of her jealousy toward Camryn before Trenton.
He pretended not to hear her and left under her piercing stare.
Carrie watched him from the balcony. She saw him exiting the apartment and leaving in a taxi.
She immediately returned to the house and closed the doors and windows. After that, she locked the main door and rushed downstairs.
While she was heading down, she called the Longbottom family's bodyguards and told them to pick her up.
The bodyguards were just nearby. They had been following her in secret all night.
They arrived not long after Carrie walked out of the apartment building. However, the car simply left instead of heading toward her. She was speechless.
Were the two bodyguards blind? Could they not see her standing there?
Carrie was angry. She called one of them right away and scolded, "Are you guys blind? Didn't you see me standing here? Come and pick me up now. It's cold out here."
Although she was wearing a thick coat, she was freezing as the temperatures dropped drastically this late into the night.
"There are people tailing you, missus."
Carrie was stunned for a moment.noveldrama
"You shouldn't go back tonight, missus. Just stay in the apartment. You can leave after we deal with the people following you." Carrie whispered, "Can't you kill them now? Are they Serenity's or Camryn's people?"
The bodyguard replied, "It's probably your sister's. It's easier for them to tail you since you met up with your brother."
Carrie also thought they were more likely to be Camryn's people.
"Kill them all!"
"No. Killing them will only bring more trouble. Please return to the apartment. We'll think of a way to lead them away."
What do you think?
