His face was full of wrinkles and only looked somewhat similar to the portrait Audrey had drawn of him from memory. It was no wonder Julian had not been able to find him. Audrey had not been able to remember what he looked like very clearly, so although the portrait was lifelike and drawn well, it was of no use since he was drawn in the wrong likeness. "May I know your names?"

"That's not important. It's been decades since anyone asked for our names, so we don't quite remember them anymore," the legendary doctor said. "You can just call me Doc. Mr. Stone, I've been a doctor for decades and have been labeled 'the genius doctor' among others. Lilian Carden is my disciple. You must have heard of her."

He introduced himself first. At Clive's age, it was very unlikely for him to know of the legendary doctor, but he must have heard of his disciple Dr. Carden, who successfully treated Camryn's eyes.

"Mr. Stone, we don't like beating around the bush either. We saved this man a few decades ago. At the time, he was being pursued by a bunch of assassins and was injured and poisoned. "Silver sent his men out for information and it took a long time before we finally managed to learn that he was actually the Fisher matriarch's most trusted and capable assistant in Jensburg. I won't go into too much detail about that, I assume you know the Fisher family rules.

"It's not that he doesn't want to avenge his master. He doesn't have the wherewithal to do so. The current matriarch is a vicious but capable woman who put in a lot of effort to take that seat.

"Back then, the former matriarch's family had all passed away and her youngest sister died in a so-called accident without her eldest sister's protection. Even if our man Patrick over here went back for revenge, it was a toss-up whether or not he would be able to do it, and once he did, who would be the next matriarch?

"He's stubborn and thought the position should be inherited by his master's daughters. Either way, they had to be of his master's line, but he also felt it wouldn't be right by his master if he got revenge and gave the position to someone else before he found the two young misses.

"We kept persuading him and stopped him. Plus, his body was in a bad condition. There really was no chance of success if he tried to get revenge alone, and he didn't have much evidence either. Worried about being retaliated against, he's been with us for the past few decades."

Doc and the rest had already retired into seclusion, but he in particular would often go out to see patients and teach disciples. Even if they knew of the internal conflicts of a rich family, they would not meddle in their affairs.

They saved Patrick and appreciated the man's loyalty, even viewing him as a good friend, but they would not interfere in his revenge for Tiara. If they did, they would be making the entire Fisher family their enemies, and it was not that they were afraid of this, but rather, they did not want even more innocent lives to be lost.

Furthermore, if they interfered, other distinguished families might learn about their keeping an eye on current events, and the families might join hands for a preventive strike before these old men also decided to meddle in their affairs.

These families were not to be messed with back then. Besides, they had clearly stated before that they were going to retire and keep their word, but it had nothing to do with them if their disciple interfered. All they said was they were going to retire. They had never said their disciple was going to retire too.

For various reasons, they did not want to let Patrick put his life on the line alone either. Silver did help to look into the whereabouts of Tiara's two daughters, but back then, Audrey and Lisa were sent to Wiltspoon's orphanage far away from Jensburg and it was during a time when transportation and communication were not as advanced, so they searched for a long time but to no avail.

As time passed, the children gradually grew up and their appearances changed to some extent, which made it harder for Silver to find them. It was not like now, where the Inte, transportation, and communication were developed. Their disciples expanded their small group to the point they were much more capable than they were decades ago, so it was much easier to find whoever they wanted.
