Chapter 3320
Before Lisa's grave, Audrey cried her heart out, but nothing she could do would revive her sister. All she could do was shower an abundance of love on her two nieces. After the sisters' miserable childhood and subsequent separation, as well as learning the truth behind her family's deaths, Audrey hated Belinda with her whole being.
Patrick said with resentment, "One should not do something they don't want others to know about. She will pay for what she did."
"That's right, Uncle True. She'll pay for what she did."
"It's just that I'm useless. I don't have a lot of proof. All I have is this bit of evidence and it's not going to be enough to prove she did it, also because anyone who could be a witness is already dead,” Patrick said, blaming himself so much that he started crying again.
Audrey said coldly, "I don't care if there's no proof. I will take back control of the Fisher family. I might not become the matriarch myself, but I can make my niece one. No matter how much she does or loses in the process, in the end, it'll still return to my mother's line.
"She's suffering retribution now anyway. Her life isn't good-her children, adopted daughter, and daughters-in-law are constantly fighting. Oh, right. Her adopted daughter's dead, while her biological daughter didn't grow up with her, so it's hard for them to truly be of one mind.noveldrama
"Give me the evidence you have, Uncle True. I will prepare a copy for that good cousin of mine to make sure they'll never be united."
Caroline was having a hard time as the next in line to be the matriarch and had told Audrey before that if she could prove Belinda caused Tiara's death, she would give the position back to Audrey. If Audrey wanted to groom Liberty to take over, that was her business.
Caroline did not care. All she wanted was to leave the Fisher family and return to being herself. There were too many bad practices and inhumane family rules in the Fisher family. Caroline could not get used to it and was tormented by it.
Patrick knew about Belinda's current situation and said, "Serves her right! It'll be best if she dies at the hands of the person closest to her. That would be true retribution."
Back then, Belinda ruthlessly caused Tiara and her family's deaths before turning on Alivia, therefore killing her closest family. If any of Belinda's current closest family, like her three sons, were to attempt to kill her, it would be retribution for her whether or not she died.
Patrick continued, "I've taken good care of the evidence all this while, but I didn't bring it with me this time. I came here this time mainly to see you with my own eyes. I can finally rest assured, seeing that you're doing very well."
He just had not seen Lisa's two daughters yet. He had met Audrey's children and could tell they were outstanding in their own right. With just a glance, it was obvious Audrey's husband doted on his wife, because without his favor, Audrey would not have been able to show off her abilities in Stone Group in the past.
Tiara's excellent genes had not been lost-they had been passed on to Audrey, and she had a successor. This was Patrick's greatest relief after meeting Audrey. Once Patrick's emotions calmed considerably, Audrey introduced her family to Patrick, one by one.
A rare smile appeared on Patrick's face as he praised Clive and the rest. Elisa was Audrey's only daughter, and if they followed the Fisher family rules, Elisa was the legitimate successor. Even though he knew Audrey intended to train Liberty to take over the Fisher family, Patrick could not resist giving Elisa a few more glances.
Still, he did not say a single contrary word about Audrey's decision. Lisa's daughters had been through a lot and were resilient. With nurturing, they had an advantage over Audrey's only daughter.
Elisa was accustomed to doing what she wanted and never suffered hardship. Asking her to take over the Fishers would be akin to sending her to die. Plus, she had openly refused the position before, not wanting to take over the Fishers on her mother's behalf. She was not suited to be the matriarch.
