Serenity and Zachary York



Grandma May laughed and said, "Now that's the Audrey Fisher I know. She should take back whatever should have been hers in the first place. She doesn't need a reason! Even if Mr. Patrick doesn't have much evidence regarding Tiara and her family's deaths, he's one of the witnesses. His statement is proof too. If Tiara wasn't murdered, why was he being hunted?

"Doc and the rest were the ones who saved him. Even though they've been retired for decades, they're still talked about, and with Dr. Carden's reputation, they'll return to the public's eye and remind everyone of their past.

"With their testimony to prove that Mr. Patrick was being pursued and was seriously injured as a result of that, everyone will believe every single word he says. Now, all Mr. Patrick has to do is take good care of his health. It'll be great if he can go with you guys to confront Belinda, otherwise, just get him to record a video and the other old fellows to accompany you guys as backup. Belinda might deny it to the bitter end but the others can judge for themselves."

Grandma May's words suddenly enlightened Serenity. They might not have stronger evidence, but they had Patrick as a decisive witness.

"That's right, we have a strong witness." Serenity hugged Grandma May's arm. "You're the smartest! You figured all that out right away."

Grandma May said, "It's not that I'm smart. It's just that you guys were only concerned about his health and what you could do to help him live a few years longer while neglecting the fact that he could be a witness. Plus, Doc and the gang could be witnesses too.

"Those old coots are around my age and can probably live for at least another ten years. They'll do as your witnesses. You guys didn't want to put Mr. Patrick through more suffering either. He's too old and in bad health, so just record a video of him. You'll still be able to establish how ruthless Belinda was back then with Doc and the others to back you up.

"Mr. Patrick was Tiara's assistant. If Belinda was truly innocent, why did she go after him? She definitely had something to do with Alivia's death too." At this, Grandma May sighed before continuing. "Sometimes, family rules can kill. If the position was passed down according to caliber, there might have been competition, but at least everyone had some hope.

"Belinda isn't incapable either. Tiara wasn't in good health and Audrey and Lisa were quite young at the time. If Belinda hadn't done anything, Tiara might have passed the position to her eventually." Grandma May sighed again.

A few decades ago, the fights among powerful and distinguished families were even more intense.

"Family rules are important, but so is character."

Serenity commented, "People will change according to their environment."

Grandma May was silent for a moment before she agreed. "That's true."

"When are you two heading back?" She changed the subject and then appraised Serenity before looking at Zachary too. She said with a frown, "Zack, is my vision going? Why do I feel like you've gotten fat whereas Serenity hasn't put on any weight at all, except for a slight bump that's starting to show."

If Serenity wore a thick coat, no one would be able to tell. Zachary was speechless as he wore a helpless expression. His nana's vision was indeed going! She actually said he had gained weight.

Tania had something to say then. "I said he got fat, but he wouldn't admit it and would complain that I made comments about it every time he came back. There! I'm not the only one who thinks so. Even your nana agrees."noveldrama

Zachary was truly at a loss for words. Serenity could not help but laugh.

As she laughed, she said, "Nana, that's not true. You guys only think so because you haven't seen us in a while. Both you and Mom think I've gotten thinner, but I really haven't. Zachary hasn't put on any weight either, he's always maintained it very well. Nana, stop attacking him. Look at his expression-he's probably wondering if you even love him anymore."

Grandma May giggled. "Is that so? My vision really must be going then, because I can't tell."

Zachary did not feel like saying anything anymore.
