Chapter 3337
Fox sat up and took a few sips of her water before gesturing as if she was about to splash it on Dylan. He just looked at her with a smile. In the end, she put down the cup.
"Stop being such a kiss-ass. When are you going to return my stuff to me?"
Dylan sat down opposite her and repeated himself. "I really don't remember where I put it. I haven't found it yet. When I do, I promise I'll return it to you myself. You just have to leave me your address and contact number. Why don't I buy you a new one? Tell me where you got it.
“A new one wouldn't be mine. I don't want it. Like I said, this method of yours to get my number is terrible. It's pretty much stealing. No, in fact, it is. You are stealing."
Dylan smiled neutrally. "Ms. Fox, you seem to have forgotten how it ended up in my hands. If you hadn't been disrespectful first, I wouldn't have responded in kind."noveldrama
Fox had nothing to retort with. The two just glared at each other.
After a few minutes, Fox relented. "It was my fault, Dylan. I apologize, alright? Give it back to me. It means a lot to me but it's not worth anything to you."
"No, it's really valuable. It's probably considered an antique by now. Even if I tried to buy one now, it wouldn't be as good quality as yours is." "Since you know it's valuable, give it back to me."
Dylan replied, “Ms. Fox, I am not lying to you. I don't remember where I left it. You know I don't have a girlfriend and I don't really know how to store things like that. Men are usually careless. I threw it aside casually and I truly don't remember where I threw it."
Fox said furiously, "Dylan, if you don't return it to me, I'll tattle on you to your grandmother and then to Zachary York so that he can teach you a lesson."
The York brothers were first and foremost afraid of the Old Mrs. York, and Zachary, second. Everyone knew this. They were not even afraid of their own parents. If anyone wanted to tattle on them, it was best to go to Zachary. Sometimes, it was futile to go to Old Mrs. York as she doted on her grandsons.
Plus, she was often not at home. It was hard to find her and she was getting on in years. The would-be tattler had to worry she might have a heart attack if they angered her. If that happened, they would not be able to bear the responsibility.
That was why Zachary was the most suitable to hear any complaints. As long as they were reasonable about it, Zachary would definitely take their side and teach the offender a lesson instead of being biased.
Dylan retorted, "Don't threaten to tattle on me so easily. That just makes you look useless. If you keep resorting to that, it'll show just how incompetent you are, and you're not incompetent."
Fox was speechless for a moment before she came back with a retort. "I heard Zachary's wife is really easygoing and approachable. I think we could be friends. Once we've become friends, I'll ask her for help to get it back."
It was Dylan's turn to be speechless. If Serenity asked him for it and he refused to hand it over, Zachary would step up. He shuddered a little at the thought of it.
"I'll look for it when I go home later, and see if I can find it. Once I have, I'll let you know to come and get it, or you can come by every day to check if I've found it. My place is so big, it'll take some time to comb every corner multiple times. I can't go without sleep just to help you look for it. I only have about half an hour to look for it every night, at most an hour."
Fox felt like he just did not want to return it to her. How had she piqued this scoundrel's attention? After a long moment of silence, she forced a smile, which did look a bit fake.
