Chapter 3338
"Dylan. Mr. Dylan. Mr. Dylan York. Tell me what I have to do to make you return it to me. Don't tell me you don't remember where you put it. That's just an excuse and I don't believe a single word of it."
Dylan looked the same as ever as he said, "There's no use even if you call me daddy. Believe it or not, I really can't remember. If you want to approach Serenity, go ahead. She is easygoing and affable. She likes girls like you the most. Oh, yeah. She has some self-defense skills, too. When you're free, you can even spar with her.
"On second thought, she is pregnant right now. You'd better wait until she's given birth before you try that. Even if you ask her to ask me for it, it'll be of no use if I can't find it. Worst comes to worst, I'll just upset her and get a beating from Zachary."
Dylan shrugged it off, making Fox so angry she stomped her feet. Still, she could not do anything to him. That thing was not at his home. She had already turned his house upside down. She seriously suspected he had it on him, but she could not search him.
If she did, he would say that she was taking advantage of him and wanted her to take responsibility, considering how shameless he was. Then, she would never be able to clear her name. From what she knew of him, he really would do so. After a long while, she stood up to leave.
"Fox." Dylan blocked her way out. "Are you leaving just like this?"
"Scoundrel! I can't do anything about you right now, so why would I stay? To sit here and get pissed off six ways to Sunday? I can't beat you up either. I don't want to make an enemy out of the York family. If you weren't Old Mrs. York's grandson, I seriously would have crippled you, Dylan York!"noveldrama
Fox then pushed him aside.
She was so strong that Dylan stumbled back a few steps from the force of her push before he steadied himself. By the time he was stable, she was already at the door, pulling it open.
"You're already here anyway, Fox. Why don't we have a meal together? It's on me. It's my fault that you've come here for nothing. I'll treat you to a meal as an apology." Dylan ran over to the door and was about to grab her arm when she glared at him. Sheepishly, he retracted his hand, afraid that she would really beat him up here at his office and embarrass him in front of all his employees.
No matter what, he was their boss. It would be humiliating. That was why he did not dare to even touch her.
"I wouldn't be able to stomach the food. I'd be all filled up with anger if I had to face you." Fox strode out and Dylan followed after her.
"You can just focus on the food then. You don't have to face me."
Fox could not be bothered to reply. Just then, her phone beeped with a new message. She dug out her phone as she walked and sped up after she read the message. Dylan even had to jog to keep up with her. This was his first time meeting a woman who walked faster than a man. His secretary Theo's line of sight followed the two of them in a scrutinizing manner.
