Chapter 246 Miracle Phone Call
Hayden blurted out, "You... you... where did you come from? I'm talking to my daughter, why are you butting in?"
Hayden was really losing it now. Seeing Emily ready to go toe-to-toe with him, he couldn't stand the thought of losing everything he'd worked so hard for. In his panic, he started lashing out at everyone around him.
But Abigail wasn't one to back down. Seeing Hayden act so irrationally, she put her hands on her hips and pulled Emily behind her, shielding her completely. Her sharp tongue was ready for battle. "Mr. Brown, I told you to leave because I didn't want to make a scene. I was trying to be nice, but you just don't get it, do you?"
"It's not like we can't talk about your family's mess. You and Mrs. Evelyn Brown not only took Ms. Taylor's house but now you want her company too? Even as an outsider, I can't stand it, let alone Emily. She's Ms. Taylor's daughter; of course, she's going to look out for her mom!"
"But you keep using this 'respect your parents' nonsense to manipulate Emily. She's respected you enough. Don't push her too far. Even a cornered rabbit will bite. I'm telling you, watch yourself!"
With that, Abigail let out a cold snort.
Seeing Emily's tear-streaked face, she got even more fired up and threw a few more jabs at Hayden.
Then, ignoring his rage, she slammed the door shut.noveldrama
The world went silent.
Abigail turned to Emily, "Alright, Emily, stop crying. He's not worth it."
Seeing Emily's red, tear-stained face, her long lashes fluttering like delicate butterfly wings, Abigail felt her heart ache. "How about this, you go back to your room. I'll go deal with Mr. Brown. I'll make sure he never bothers you and Ms. Taylor again. We don't need to follow any stupid rules. Some fathers just don't deserve the title." Abigail's voice started to crack.
Seeing this, Emily quickly grabbed her.
She wiped her tears away, her bright eyes shining with determination. "Thank you, Abigail. Even you know to think about my mom... He doesn't deserve to be a father, and he's not worth our time. Talking to him is pointless. We'll see him in court. I'm done."
Meanwhile, outside the door.
Hayden waited a bit longer.
The weather in Emerald City had turned, with thick fog rolling in, temperatures dropping, and the sky darkening early.
He stood shivering in the wind, thinking Emily would come out soon.
But to his surprise, she didn't. There was no sound at all after the door closed!
After a few more angry shouts, Hayden spat on the ground and stormed out of the villa area, cursing under his breath.
Suddenly, an idea struck him.
His eyes lit up, and he pulled out his phone.
His previously angry face now wore a smile as he spoke eagerly into the phone. "Hey, it's Hayden! Long time no talk... I need a favor. Where are you? I'll come over right
away! Oh, you're so kind. Alright, I'm on my way!"
The next morning, Emily woke up feeling groggy.

Seeing the gloomy weather outside, Emily's mood took a nosedive.
Thinking about Hayden causing trouble last night and making Abigail mad for half the day, she felt like she was being torn apart, a dull ache settling in her chest.
"Some people really don't deserve to be fathers." Abigail's words echoed in Emily's mind. She leaned against the bed, hugging a pillow.
Emily had no energy, but luckily, she had taken a long leave from JM Jewelry Company,
so she didn't have to go to work and could just chill at home.
Just then, her phone rang. It was Daniel.
Emily answered, and what she heard left her stunned. Isabella had woken up.
"Daniel, what... what did you say?" Emily thought she must have misheard.
But Daniel confirmed it several times, "Ms. Taylor is awake, Emily. I'm not kidding. Ms. Taylor is really awake. I'm outside her room right now. As soon as the nurse found out, she called the doctor, and I rushed over. You should come now. I'll keep an eye on things here..."
Before Daniel could finish, Emily had already hung up.
She grabbed her clothes and bolted out the door, not even thinking about washing up or putting on makeup. She just wanted to see Isabella as soon as possible.
When Emily got to the hospital, the doctor had already finished the examination.
On the way, she got a message from Daniel saying that all the test results were normal. Isabella waking up was a miracle, but she still needed to stay in the hospital for observation.
Outside the ward, Daniel was waiting.
As soon as he saw Emily, he was about to talk to her, but she rushed straight into the room, not giving him a chance to say anything.
There was no stopping her. After not seeing Isabella awake for so long, Emily was desperate. "Mom!"
Isabella was staring blankly out the window.
The world seemed new, confusing, and completely different to her.
Isabella needed time to recover her memories and see her precious daughter.
As soon as she saw Emily, tears filled Isabella's eyes, and she opened her arms, her voice trembling. "Emily..."
Neither of them could hold back.
Emily rushed into Isabella's arms like a homing bird, seeking that long-lost, warm embrace.
"Mom... you finally woke up. I thought you didn't want me anymore. You... you can't go back to sleep. I really need you. I can't be without you. Mom, promise me, don't go back to sleep, okay?" Emily's voice was barely a whisper, her throat dry and tight.
She poured out her heart, and in that moment, mother and daughter were connected. Isabella knew Emily had been through a lot. "Is it your father? Emily, you've been so hurt. It must be something your father did, right? I know him too well. I knew he wouldn't take good care of you. Don't worry, I'll make sure you get justice, Emily. I promise, I'll make things right for you!"
