Chapter 648 Hit by a Flower
"Our bride is about to throw the bouquet! Single boys and girls, come on over! Take this chance to show yourselves; maybe today you'll find your match," the emcee announced.
Susan immediately lifted her dress. "Where are you going?" Randall stopped her.
"To catch the bouquet, of course. Move aside, Randall."
Vera was also holding Theodore, looking around for Patrick.
Patrick silently watched Vera's movements from the side.
"Honey," Vera called sweetly when she found Patrick. She ran over, handed Theodore
to Patrick, and turned to run towards the stage.
Luckily, Patrick grabbed Vera's arm and pulled her into his embrace, questioning, "Where are you going?"
"To catch the bouquet."
"Come here and recognize who I am to you and who this child is to you," Patrick said angrily, dragging Vera, who was pretending to be a single girl, to the side.
"Honey, let me explain. I wasn't looking for someone else; I just thought Molly's bouquet was pretty," Vera's voice could still be heard from afar, trying to justify herself.
Coincidentally, Molly's excellent aim landed the bouquet right on Susan's head.
Vera, who hadn't finished being scolded, curiously ran out to see who caught the bouquet.
"Congratulations to our bridesmaid, Susan."
Susan was stunned, holding the bouquet. She had just joined for fun and didn't intend
to catch it, but the bouquet hit her head.
The emcee was already beside her. "Do you have a boyfriend?"
Susan shook her head, bewildered.
Randall turned away and sat down, no longer looking at the stage.
A few minutes later, Susan ran to Randall. "Randall, the bouquet is for you."
"I don't want it," Randall said, playing a game on his phone.
Susan sighed in disappointment.
Vera tried to stir things up. "Susan, don't be sad. If Randall doesn't want it, someone else will. Give the bouquet to Noah; Noah wants it."
Noah had just taken Theodore again.
As Susan turned to find her parents, Randall quickly reached out, took the bouquet from her hand, and placed it on his lap.
Susan turned around instantly, tilting her head and smiling at Randall. "Randall, do you like this bouquet?"
"No."
Vera, noticing Randall's odd mood, teased, "If you don't like it, why did you take it?"
Randall replied, "Isn't Theodore supposed to be fed?"
At that moment, Vera heard the familiar sound of crying and ran off.
"Randall, are you mad?"
"No."
Susan sat in front of Randall. "I can feel that you're mad."
Randall lost his game shortly after and put down his phone. "It's time to eat. Your parents are calling you."
Susan looked back and saw her parents waiting for her. She felt a bit hurt but only showed a little. "I'll go over then, Randall."
"Susan, what's wrong?" Matilda asked, noticing Susan's low spirits.
"I'm fine. It's time to eat. Go to your seat," Susan said, heading towards her parents.
"I'll walk you," Matilda offered.
Susan didn't think much of it, as Randall's unhappiness occupied her mind.
"Susan, are you really single?"
"Huh?"
Five minutes later, just before dinner, Susan ran to Randall, looking scared. "Randall, someone wants me to be her girlfriend."
Randall stood up quickly. "Who?"
Terrified, Susan glanced back at Matilda. "She wants me to study abroad."
Randall, still unsure who it was, pulled Susan closer. "Who?"
"That girl from yesterday, Matilda."
Randall said, "Sit next to me during dinner. Let's see if she dares to come over. From now on, if anyone asks, just say you have a boyfriend."
It was Susan's first encounter with a lesbian, and she was not only surprised but also the object of affection.
Randall glanced at Matilda from afar and had Susan sit in his seat while he sat beside her.
Soon, Vera came out holding a sleeping Theodore, who had fallen asleep halfway through feeding.
Vera was surprised that Randall had calmed Susan down so quickly.
Noah came over, took Theodore, and left, even though Theodore was asleep.
Noah had reluctantly accepted studying abroad, but because of Theodore, he was reconsidering returning home.
Warren, noticing Noah's thoughts, quickly handed Theodore to Patrick.
After the wedding banquet, as guests were leaving, Matilda approached Susan when Randall wasn't around. "Susan, many countries now support same-sex marriage. Don't reject it."
Susan replied, "I'm not rejecting it, but I like men."
Matilda said, "I really think you're adorable. I like you a lot."
"Kids are cuter than me. Matilda, I won't force you to like men, but don't try to change me. I like Randall."
Randall appeared, "Matilda, what are you trying to do?"
He quickly pulled Susan behind him. "I warn you, don't go after her. Otherwise, I won't consider your grandfather. You wouldn't want your already struggling family business to face more difficulties, would you?"
Matilda retorted, "You're just relying on Patrick."
Randall smiled, "So what if I am? As long as I can threaten you, that's the point."
Susan wouldn't let anyone look down on Randall. "That's not true. When Randall is at
his best, your company wouldn't even know how it went bankrupt."noveldrama
Later, Matilda left with Marc.
Susan and Randall returned. "Randall, did you hear what I said earlier?"
"I heard."
Susan blushed. "Which part did you hear?"
Randall replied, "The part where you praised me." And the part where she openly said she liked Randall.
Susan felt disappointed again, thinking he hadn't heard their conversation.
Randall glanced at Susan and smiled freely, putting his arm around her shoulder.
What do you think?
