The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 537

Carlos continued, "But these brats from military families are moving up quicker than I am due to their background. They all have bright futures ahead, but what about me? I've hit rock bottom and even ditched my uniform. Getting promoted is impossible for regular folks. Killing you is my only shot."

Matthew firmly held the Apex Blade, his eyes locked on Carlos like a hawk. "You actually want to use my life as a stepping stone? Then I'll just take you out, and I won't have to feel guilty about it."

Taken aback, Carlos said in disbelief, "Kill me? Seriously? Have you lost your mind? Do you honestly think you can take me on? Do you have any idea how many people I've got with me?"

Matthew coldly stared at Carlos. "More people? Where are they? I'll send you all on your way."

Carlos looked at Matthew as if he was an idiot. "Y-you're not scared silly, are you? Taking us out? Fine then. I'll show you how many people are with me. I just hope you don't wet yourself."

After saying that, Carlos waved at Matthew and walked toward the exit on the first basement floor.

Holding the Golden Blade, Matthew trailed behind Carlos as he found himself surrounded by more than ten people from all directions.

After leaving the basement, Matthew was surprised to see it was raining. That explained why these people were wet.

It really pouring down. In no time, Matthew's clothes were soaked, and the wind made it tough to see.

Carlos shouted, "Assemble!"

A loud, thunderous voice rang out in the rain. Soon enough, the other squads emerged from the rain.

80 people surrounded Matthew like predators cornering their prey. They had steel pipes as their weapons, all of them exuding a palpable killing intent.

Carlos felt a sense of pride. For the first time, he had led so many skilled soldiers on his side. Undoubtedly, this moment was the crescendo of his life.

He raised his chin slightly and looked at Matthew scornfully. "Did you see that? With this many people, we can easily beat you into a pulp. If you decide to retaliate, you'll end up with a miserable fate. Just end your life yourself."

The rain felt like arrows, and the wind cut like a knife, filling the air with a sense of impending bloodshed.

Matthew raised his blade. "So you think you can step over me to get ahead, huh? I'm going to unleash hell upon you all."

What an insolent fool! Why was he still putting up a desperate struggle?noveldrama

With a gaze like he was staring at a corpse, Carlos suddenly roared, "Charge! Let's go, my brothers!"

Carlos' command echoed in the storm. Matthew cut through the downpour and weaved through the enemies like a shadowy figure. The blade gleamed as it was swung.

Soon, heads were sent flying, and blood gushed out from the victims' torsos, mixing with the rain.

Some of the brawny men felt warm blood hit their faces. When they raised their hands to wipe it away, they could only feel empty air.

Apparently, they were already decapitated. Blood sprayed from their severed necks. The hand that lingered at the cheek area was covered in blood, looking like it was coated in red paint.

Matthew finally stopped in his tracks. He swung his blade, and a humming sound filled the air.

The blood on the blade turned into vapor and dispersed. Then, with a series of thuds, headless bodies. dropped behind Matthew, splashing the water a few feet into the air.

In the blink of an eye, ten people had dropped dead. The remaining 70 burly men and Carlos blankly stared at the bodies and heads rolling in the rain. They seemed paralyzed as if they were struck by lightning

Other than the howling wind and rain, it was dead quiet.

Suddenly, footsteps sounded. Wielding his blade, Matthew started walking toward his enemies. Water was dripping off him as he was soaked to the bone.

Carlos and the other 70 brawny men freaked out, backing away slowly like they'd seen a haunting sight.
