Chapter 384 His Fiancée
Alexander froze in place, thinking, 'What is going on? How is Sophia my ex-fiancée? How did I never realize?'
He stared blankly at Gilbert. "Grandpa, have you met her before?"
Gilbert snorted, "So what if I have, and so what if I haven't? She has nothing to do with you now."
After saying that, he walked towards Sophia. "Sophia, I'm Gilbert Cross, do you remember me?"
Sophia smiled and nodded. "Yes. Mr. Gilbert Cross, long time no see."
"I didn't expect you to grow up to be even more beautiful than you were as a child. And you're so accomplished, winning big awards. That's truly something to celebrate.
It's just a pity that someone didn't appreciate you. I'll introduce you to some handsome young men later. I know many who are much better than Alexander."
Sophia didn't refuse and smiled. "Thank you, Mr. Gilbert Cross."
Alexander was surprised that Gilbert changed his tune so quickly. He clenched his fist in anger and wished he could punch himself in the face.
He finally understood why Sophia was always mad at him. He had criticized Sophia in front of her, which was just asking for trouble.
It took Alexander a while to snap out of his shock. He adjusted his expression and said, "Sophia, I didn't know you were my fiancée. If I had known, I wouldn't have broken off the engagement for anything."
Sophia looked at him expressionlessly. "Mr. Alexander Cross, we just weren't suitable for each other. You weren't wrong. If you don't like someone, you don't like them. Why force it? It's not like I can't get married."
Dean chimed in, "Right, it's not like Sophia can't get married. She has plenty of suitors.
If it weren't for your grandpa, I wouldn't have been willing to let her marry you."
Gilbert joined in, "Right, Sophia has nothing to do with you anymore. You go have your fun, and we'll go celebrate with her."
Alexander pondered, 'Is this really my grandpa? Betraying me so quickly?'
Alexander immediately moved behind Sophia, took the wheelchair from Betsy, and said, "I'll push her in."
At that moment, Maxwell's voice came from behind them. "No need, Mr. Alexander Cross. I'll push Sophia."
Maxwell quickly walked over and handed a bouquet of flowers to Sophia. "Congratulations, Sophia."
Sophia smiled and accepted the flowers. "Maxwell, you're getting more thoughtful. Have a blast."
"Definitely, Joey brought some good wine. We'll try it later."
As soon as he finished speaking, Joey came over holding Paxon, with Ryan pushing Benjamin, and Susan following behind.
Paxon saw Sophia and immediately clapped his hands. "Auntie Sophia, you're amazing! I want to give you a kiss." He then hugged Sophia's neck and kissed her on the cheek.
Sophia smiled and held him in her arms, kissing him back. "You say the sweetest things. Let me give you a kiss."
Dean saw Benjamin and immediately went over. "Benjamin, I heard you can talk now. That's wonderful news."
Benjamin smiled and nodded, slowly saying, "Mr. Dean Sinclair, long time no see."
Hearing this, Dean's eyes welled up. He patted Benjamin's shoulder. "That's great. Joey finally has some hope. We were all worried she wouldn't make it through the past couple of years, but now things are looking up."noveldrama
Everyone greeted each other and then walked into the private room.
Felicia and Gordon had the room decorated beautifully.
Paxon grinned. "It's so pretty, it looks like Auntie Sophia is getting married."
Sophia laughed and pinched his cheek. "When I get married, will you be my little flower boy?"
Paxon immediately looked towards Alexander. He asked with a smile, "Auntie Sophia, are you going to marry Uncle Alexander?"
Sophia shook her head. "No."
"Then why does he keep looking at you like my dad looks at my mom? My mom says that's the look of love."
Everyone burst into laughter at this.
Alexander also walked over, picked him up, and kissed his chubby cheek with a smile. "You're so smart. You saw right through me."

Paxon blinked his big eyes at him. "But Auntie Sophia doesn't like you. She only likes me because I'm cuter and better at talking than you, right, Auntie Sophia?"
Sophia nodded with a smile. "Of course, you are so adorable. I like you very much."
Paxon looked very satisfied and raised an eyebrow at Alexander. "Hear that? She likes me. Uncle Alexander, if you want to marry her, you need to learn how to talk. Let me tell you, girls like sweet talk. You have to coax them if you want them to marry you." Alexander patted his little butt. "Who teaches him all these? How does he know everything?"
Gilbert sneered, "Definitely not you. You couldn't have such a cute kid." "Grandpa, why are you mocking me? I really didn't know Sophia was Mr. Dean Sinclair's granddaughter. If I had known, I wouldn't have broken off the engagement."
"I told you to meet her a long time ago, but you refused. If you had met Sophia earlier, none of this would have happened. Now you've broken off the engagement in front of her. She wouldn't marry you now."
Gilbert was so angry his blood pressure spiked. He wondered why it was so hard to for Alexander to get married.
Alexander walked up to Sophia and looked at her. "Sophia, when Mr. Dean Sinclair was injured, you were a nurse at the hospital. You helped me save him, so you knew I was your arranged marriage partner from that time, right?"
Sophia smiled faintly. "What's the point of knowing this? You genuinely disliked me. I can't chase after you without regard for my dignity, right? Alexander, we're all adults. There's no need to dwell on this. As you said, we're not suitable for each other." "But I didn't know it was you. If I had known, I would never have broken off the engagement."
"But the little girl I was back then was also someone you disliked, wasn't she?"
Alexander cursed himself inwardly and then said, "I was wrong. I didn't recognize you. Sophia, the person I like now is you."
