Ethan walked up to Matthew with confidence, handing him a sleek, gold- embossed business card.

Matthew visibly stiffened. When he took the card and glanced at it, his eyes widened in shock. "You... You're the founder of GrainWave Tech?"

The rest of the table quickly followed suit, each person's reaction mirroring Matthew's.

Anyone remotely familiar with the business world knew about GrainWave Tech. Over the past few years, it had skyrocketed to success, breaking the mold with its factory-free, online-exclusive business model. Profits doubled year after year, and just last year, the company had raked in over six billion dollars in revenue.

It was already a powerhouse in the tech industry. Yet, its founder had remained a complete mystery. No one knew who was behind it, only that they must be someone with extraordinary backing-perhaps the scion of an influential family.

None of them expected they'd get to meet him that day. On top of that, he was so good-looking!

The way the entire room regarded Ethan had completely changed. Josephine, however, remained clueless. She had always been laser-focused on Forbes Group, so she'd never heard of GrainWave Tech.

"What's going on?" she whispered to Ethan, feeling slightly anxious. "Why are they all looking at you like that?"

Ethan paused for a moment before replying, "Maybe they think I was too bold for handing out my business card with such confidence."

"It's fine, really. It's normal. You're a newcomer, and it's rare to get an opportunity like this, so you should definitely take the chance to promote yourself," Josephine reassured him, completely unaware of the real reason for their reactions.

"He only debuted a little over a year ago, so he doesn't have much experience and hasn't been to many big events. If he's made any missteps, I hope you'll be patient with him."

Matthew chuckled. "Why did a man like you decide to become an actor, Mr. Dane? Ms. Dunn must have quite the influence!"

Josephine couldn't tell if he was being sincere or sarcastic, so she plastered a smile on her face. "You're too kind."noveldrama

"Come on, don't just stand there have a seat!" Matthew urged, and everyone took their seats.

Josephine ended up sitting next to Matthew, but Ethan, who was supposed to sit on the other side of him, declined and chose to sit next to her instead. The table full of industry veterans immediately picked up on the move and

exchanged knowing smiles.

Josephine had assumed that, given she was the guest of honor tonight, the conversation would revolve around her movie. But to her surprise, the entire table shifted their attention to Ethan instead.

"Mr. Dane, you're quite the enigma. I hear you're impossible to track down-you never show your face in public."

Ethan responded coolly, "I prefer to keep a low profile."

"But that doesn't add up! If you wanted to stay low-key, why would you enter the entertainment industry? This is the last place you can avoid attention. Especially with a face like yours-you're bound to become a sensation. Soon, you

won't be able to step you

outside without a crowd following you."

Ethan offered a wry smile. "There's a reason for it."

"Oh, I get it! You're trying to use your celebrity status to promote your company, aren't you? That's a smart

move. Female fans have zero

restraint when it comes to buying anything endorsed by their idols."

Ethan shook his head. "That's not it. The real reason... Well, I suppose there's no

harm in telling you. I just hope you won't find it childish."

"Childish? Not at all! We might be a few years older, but we're nowhere near as capable as you. Go ahead and tell us, we won't laugh at you."

Ethan smiled and admitted, "Well, the real reason is that my first love is in the industry, and I thought becoming a star would help me get closer to her."
