"The reason you don't want to see me is because you still misunderstand me. Josephine, everything I said last time was true. I never truly betrayed you. It's just that I had no other choice but to do what I've done."

Zayn's voice turned hoarse as he spoke.

Josephine could tell he was crying.

To the outside world, he appeared arrogant and unshakeable, as if nothing could bring him down. But when he was with her, he often showed his vulnerable side.

"I'm tired. I'm really tired. Back then, whenever I felt this way, as long as I come home to you and hug you, I'll recover quickly. The thought of being with you after resolving all matters gave me strength. But now..."

He paused for a moment and continued, "I want to see you. Even if it's to talk about the divorce."

He stepped off the pedestal. Coupled with his trembling voice, Josephine's heart softened. "Are you really willing to talk about the divorce?"

"As long as I get to see you, we can talk about anything. Besides, a lot has happened to Forbes Group. I would like to tell you about it."

Did something bad happen to Forbes Group?

They had been doing well. What could've happened?

There was a high chance it was caused by her selling off the shares.

Josephine had given Jaime full authority to handle this matter so she had no idea how he transferred the shares. If he sold a large portion to other shareholders, Zayn's position could be in jeopardy.

After a moment of hesitation, she decided to meet him.

If he was willing to talk about the divorce and Forbes Group, she didn't mind meeting him.

"Where are you? I'll come to you."

"Really?" Zayn's voice brightened with hope. "I'm at Grand Panorama Hotel, room 7706. Josephine, I'll wait for you here, no matter how long it takes"

Without replying, she hung up.

If she remembered correctly, today was the launch day for Zayn's new movie.

The press conference was being held at Sunvale, which meant that Nadine should be in Sunvale as well.

Josephine couldn't help but wonder if they were staying in the same hotel room.

If she were to walk into Zayn and Nadine being in the same room, it would feel like stabbing herself in the heart.

She sighed and turned around. Just as she was going to inform Ethan to go home, she saw him leaning

a tree with his hand

his chest in pain.

"What's wrong?"

Wasn't he doing fine a moment ago?

She rushed forward to have a closer look at him.

His face was deathly pale, his breathing weak. It looked like he was having difficulty standing straight.

"Ethan, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

She raised her hand to touch his forehead, only to recall how he didn't like her touching him.

To her surprise, he didn't pull away. He even rubbed his forehead against her palm.

"You don't have a fever. Then what is it? A stomachache? Did you eat something bad?"

Ethan nodded and replied weakly, "I think... It's food poisoning."

This was no trivial matter. She had read stories of people falling ill and even dying from food poisoning.

She quickly called George to bring the car over. She supported him and asked, "What did you have for breakfast?"

"This morning... I was in a rush to see you, so I grabbed something from a street vendor."
