You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 150 The Child

Jack looked up and saw Thorne Silverton furrowing his brow, folding what he held and putting it in his pocket. He asked, “What are you doing here?”

“Accompanying a friend for a checkup,” Thorne replied before he could finish, a charming woman walked over and directly linked her arm with Thorne Silverton.

Thorne immediately pulled his arm away. In a low voice, he said, “Leave.”

The woman didn’t catch on, smiling, “Thorne,”

“I told you to leave. Can’t you understand?” His expression turned cold.

The woman finally sensed something was wrong, lowered her head, and walked away in a hurry.

“Grandpa…”

Jack glanced at the retreating woman, speaking sternly, “You’re not young anymore. Get serious and get married. Don’t always have questionable women around.”

Thorne Silverton smiled, “Yes, Grandpa. By the way, I overheard you saying Elijah has a child?”

As he spoke, he glanced toward the bodyguard.

Jack interrupted him promptly, “You heard wrong. How could Elijah have a child?” He deliberately changed the subject, “Why did you and that woman come to the hospital? Let me tell you, the Silverton family’s bloodline must be pure, and your child, if any, should be born to a suitable woman.”

Thorne pursed his lips and smiled, “Grandpa…”

He did accompany that woman for a checkup just now.

But she wasn’t pregnant.

He was well aware of that.

The woman he married must have a background. Even if he liked the woman he was with just now, he couldn’t marry her, just play around. He understood the importance of a powerful alliance; he needed to leverage his wife’s family background.

“Playing is fine, but you need to know when to rein it in. Also, tell your mother and father not to cause any trouble. I’m getting old, and my time to protect you all is limited…”

“Grandpa, you handed the entire Silverton family to him. Can’t we have a share?” Thorne Silverton, hands in pockets, appeared nonchalant but was secretly dissatisfied.

He felt Jack was too biased. They were both grandsons, both surnamed Silverton, so why did he give the vast family estate to Elijah?

He was discontent.

He believed he could do what Elijah could.

However, Jack didn’t give him the opportunity.

“I gave him what he deserves,” Jack said. “If you really want to know why, go ask your mother.”

“Grandpa, what do you mean?” Thorne Silverton, a clever person, clearly understood that his mother had done something unjust, and Jack compensated by giving the family estate to Elijah.

“Thorne, I’m tired. I have to go.” Jack, having said that, let Deck help him out of the hospital.

“Grandpa, I’ll accompany you.” Thorne Silverton approached, and Deck stepped aside to give him the spot.

Jack couldn’t refuse and accepted gladly. Considering the bodyguard was still holding the child, he let him go first.

The bodyguard understood.

“Grandpa, where did that child come from?” Thorne asked.

He clearly heard Jack say the child belonged to Elijah.

Now Jack was deliberately avoiding him. Clearly, he didn’t want him to get involved.

After putting Jack in the car, Thorne said, “Grandpa, I have something to do, so I won’t go back with you.”

Jack nodded.

Watching Thorne’s figure returning to the hospital, Jack instructed Deck, “Tell the people conducting the test to keep their mouths shut.”

“Yes.”

Deck immediately made a call.

Inside the hospital.

Shortly after receiving a call, the doctor was blocked by Thorne Silverton on his way.

“Master Thorne…”

Before the doctor could speak, Thorne grabbed his collar. “Stop the nonsense. Tell me, why did my grandfather come to the hospital today?”

“He came for a medical checkup…”

“Say it again?” Thorne’s gaze was intense. “Do you think I’m easy to fool? What did my grandfather do in the lab? Do you think I don’t know? The hospital has people from the Silverton family. All the DNA is there in case of illness. Grandpa even held a baby. Wasn’t it for a paternity test?”

“That’s correct, but there really isn’t any paternity test…”

Thorne snorted, pushing the man away. “That child is Elijah’s!”

The doctor, pushed away, took two steps back and bumped into the door. He stabilized himself, “I don’t know, I really don’t know. Please don’t make things difficult for us.”

The doctor was on thin ice.

Thorne could already guess.

Jack’s concealment, the doctor’s silence, clearly indicated something fishy. Did they think they could hide it?

He turned and walked out of the hospital, already plotting.

Headence Group.

Elijah, handling affairs in the company, received a call from the guards saying Freya was banging on the door and throwing things, and they dared not approach, so they called Elijah.

Elijah rushed back.

He pushed open the bedroom door and saw a mess and Freya lying on the ground. The rope was still tied to her, her hair disheveled, and the shirt covering only the upper body, revealing her tied slender legs. She seemed to sense someone coming and glared angrily through her hair.

Elijah walked in quickly, lifting her from the ground.

Freya roared at him, “Untie the rope and let me go!”

Elijah didn’t untie it immediately but said, “Calm down first.”

Her eyes were bloodshot, and she squeezed out words from between her teeth, “You, let, me, go!”

Her emotions were too agitated. Elijah had someone give her a sedative. After she calmed down, he untied the rope.

“Elijah!”

Freya suddenly got up, forcefully pulling Elijah down and straddling him, both hands gripping his neck. Elijah didn’t expect her to have so much strength, but when Freya pulled him, he didn’t resist and laid down following her force. Being choked, he didn’t move.Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.

“You hate me so much? Want me dead?” He looked at the woman above.

Freya firmly held his neck. Her frenzy was due to a dream where her child was taken away by a beast, and she chased desperately but couldn’t catch up. She watched helplessly as her child was swallowed.

She was terrified and fearful as she woke up.

She had to find Ronan Vega; she had to see her child.

She had to make sure Kai was okay.

“Elijah, I really hate you. I want to strangle you to death, but I can’t. I can’t become a murderer. I can’t let my child have a mother who killed his father, let alone… let people point fingers at him, saying his mother killed his father.”

Elijah’s heart couldn’t find peace. It jumped and trembled for this sudden revelation, excited and hard to control. His heart surged like the sea.

“What… what did you say? The child, your child, is still alive?”
