Elijah added, “Not for Kai, purely because of me.”

Xander replied, “Yes, an ordinary girl without a family background. She’s currently being supported by Thorne.”

Elijah raised an eyebrow, “He’s spending money to support a woman?”

“Colton still has money in his hands, right? They haven’t reached the point of desperation yet,” Xander said.

Elijah understood Thorne’s temperament to some extent. Thorne Silverton was proud and extravagant; the money in Colton’s hands was not enough to satisfy Thorne’s spending. He considered himself high and mighty, not willing to rely solely on his family.

If the secretary or other staff came in and saw them like this, it would be embarrassing. She struggled a bit, but Elijah held her even tighter, leaning down to whisper in her ear, “Don’t move.”

His other hand moved the mouse, opening the email. “This woman is Thorne Silverton’s girlfriend.”

Freya turned to look at him, “Are we going to target this woman?”

“With her being so close to Thorne Silverton, I’m thinking that getting close to her might reveal information about Kai’s whereabouts.”

Elijah intended to find a woman to get close to Thorne’s girlfriend to gather information.

“I’ll go.” Freya volunteered.

“No.” Elijah vetoed directly. “They must recognize you. Don’t forget, you were able to marry me because of them.”

Freya blinked. “I haven’t had any contact with them.”

“But from what I know, your dad had contact with them.”

“My dad?” Freya only knew that Leo Stone married her to Elijah for mutual benefit. She had no idea about any contact with Thorne.

Elijah also didn’t know whether there was any business deal between Leo Stone and them at the time, but Xander found the information. They did have contact, but now Leo Stone was dead.

“It doesn’t matter anymore.” He hugged the woman in his arms. “I’m grateful to them for bringing you to me.”
