You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 189 I’m Heavy

Freya walked over and asked, “Is there anything uncomfortable?”

Elijah didn’t answer her, just kept looking at her.

Freya was still wearing the same clothes as before. Although she wasn’t injured, her clothes were dirty and messy. She was surprised that Elijah was looking at her because of her clothes and said, “I didn’t have time to change.”

But Elijah said, “If you don’t like my secretary, I can transfer her to another position.”Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

He had heard what Freya had said about the secretary last time. Maybe she didn’t want any women around him?

Xander furrowed his brow slightly and wondered what had happened between Freya and Elijah for them to bring up the topic of the secretary.

“Dina is careful in her work. I don’t think she has made any major mistakes,” Xander commented from his perspective.

Actually, he had a selfish motive – he didn’t want Dina replaced because if someone new came in they would have to get used to each other all over again. It was better for old partners who worked well together. His thoughts were all based on work considerations.

Freya looked at Elijah and explained herself, “I don’t dislike her, she’s someone close to you. When I asked Xander about it, I just wanted to know more about people around you. Nothing else.”

This clarified things for everyone present except for Elijah who seemed overly sensitive regarding Freya’s question about his secretary. Was it jealousy or something else? This behavior from him was rare indeed.

Elijah stared at Xander, who had a curious expression on his face as if trying to pry into something private.

“Xander, are you free right now? If not why don’t you go clean every toilet in this company?” asked Elijah.

Xander quickly shook his head with a nervous laugh realizing that prying into your boss’s personal life could lead down an awkward path, “No, no! Boss man sir! I’m really busy right now!”

Freya couldn’t understand why suddenly Elijah shifted focus onto Xander but little did she know that being one of those people who often followed behind Elijah meant that he knew him quite well personally too. Just from his gossiping expression, Elijah could almost guess what Xander was thinking.

“Keep an eye on Arwen Silverton’s every move.” Said Elijah.

“I understand. I’ll personally follow up on it. I’ve already sent the document to Arwen Silverton through Elara Montague. According to observation, she has believed in the authenticity of the document and has secretly contacted all shareholders of the company, preparing to overthrow you with one fell swoop.”

“Hmm, I see. You can go now,” Elijah said.

Xander tactfully left the ward and closed the door behind him.

Freya bent down and asked softly, “Are you thirsty? Hungry?”

“No…” Elijah reached out his hand.

Freya placed her hand in his palm and their fingers interlocked.

“Thank you.” Her eyes were slightly red. She still remembered how she felt when she saw Elijah injured on his back – he had blocked flying stones and bricks so that she could be safe. Otherwise, things wouldn’t have turned out so well for her now. She had never been cared for like this before; at that moment, her heart was surging with indescribable gratitude towards him for saving her life unexpectedly by taking a bullet for her during a previous incident involving Zane’s fake bomb threat.

“If I told you that I knew Zane’s bomb was fake from the beginning would you be angry?” Elijah lowered his gaze as he spoke while Freya looked up at him in surprise.

“What? You knew it was fake?”

Elijah made a soft sound of agreement. He had noticed something off about how it was set up right away; it wasn’t like what a real bomb would look like.

Freya suddenly smiled again, “So what if you knew?”

Because even though Zane’s first bomb threat turned out to be fake, there was another real one later. Since childhood Freya hadn’t experienced much warmth because of Elowen’s cowardice or Leo Stone’s autocratic behavior towards them all.

“When I married you, I never thought there would be such a day.”

Neither did Elijah expect this outcome.

The door suddenly sounded followed by Elowen’s voice, “Freya, Zane is awake.”

Earlier Freya instructed her mother to notify her immediately when Zane woke up since there were some things she wanted to ask him about.

Freya quickly sat up straight and said to Elowen outside the door, “Okay.”

Elowen was about to leave when she thought of Elijah and Zane having similar injuries. She asked with concern, “Has Elijah woken up?”

Freya’s gaze fell on Elijah’s face as she replied, “Yes, he’s awake.”

“Is he okay?”

“He’s fine. He just needs a few days to rest.” Freya answered.

Elowen breathed a sigh of relief. She didn’t want anything bad to happen to Elijah at this time when her daughter had finally found someone she loved. If something happened to Elijah, what would happen to her daughter?

“You see how much my mom cares about you?” Freya laughed and said, “I’ll go check on Zane and be back soon.”

“I’ll come with you,” Elijah stood up.

Freya helped him up. “You have injuries on your body.”

“It’s nothing serious,” Elijah replied as his injuries were not severe.

Freya had no choice but to agree with him. He was wearing a blue striped hospital gown that still showed off his tall figure. Freya wrapped his arm around her shoulder while he chuckled softly saying, “I’m heavy.”

“I can handle it.” She replied confidently.

Elijah asked uncertainly, “Are you sure?”

Without noticing the ambiguous look in his eyes, Freya answered firmly saying, “I’m very sure.”

However, before she could finish speaking, her body was pressed down onto the bed by Elijah. She was startled and her eyes widened in surprise . Her eyelashes trembled slightly as she bit her lip gently whispering.

“Elijah…” She bit down harder on her lip afraid that someone might see them since they were in a hospital room after all .

Elijah hovered over her with tender warmth burning in his eyes like fire making it impossible for anyone resist him at this moment. Freya tilted back head towards him planting a kiss on his lips while wrapping slender arms around his neck. Elijah responded passionately, causing Freya’s soft lips under the pressure of their embrace changing shape. The two embraced each other tightly. They forgot everything else except for expressing their feelings through their most primitive way possible.

Suddenly, there was a loud click sound from the door being pushed open.
