You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 201 Sudden Heart Attack

Evan looked serious and respectfully said, “Mr Silverton, they have signed the contract.”Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

“Hmm, proceed as planned. You continue to stay in touch with them and make sure there are no flaws before they invest their first funds,” came a deep voice from the other end.

Evan replied, “Yes.”

The call ended, and he said to the driver, “Let’s go.”

Meanwhile, Elijah hung up the phone and as he turned around, a soft figure rushed into his arms. Freya hooked her arms around his neck, her clean and tidy high ponytail swaying. With bright eyes and a faint smile on her lips, she asked, “I’m going for an interview later. Do you think I’ll be successful?”

Elijah, seizing the opportunity, wrapped his arms around her slender waist and pretended to ponder.

Freya frowned.

Her pink lips pouted slightly as she asked, “Don’t you trust my abilities?”

“Do you have the ability?” Elijah countered.

Freya paused, at a loss for words. She tiptoed and bit his lips, leaving a row of teeth marks.

He smiled playfully, “Are you trying to murder your dear husband?”

As he spoke, his hand that was wrapped around Freya’s waist slipped beneath her clothing, pinching her delicate and smooth skin. Freya winced in pain and shyness, giving him a glare, “I have to go, or I’ll be late. I don’t want to leave a bad impression on the interviewer because of my tardiness.”

With that, she escaped from Elijah’s embrace and ran off. Elijah watched her retreating figure, a faint smile playing on his lips.

This woman always knew how to make people happy.

Outside, after Freya got into the car, she told the driver the address, and he immediately started the car. Soon, the car pulled out of the garage. Freya took a deep breath. It had been a while since she last worked, and she felt a slight nervousness in her heart. Since last night, she had been preparing for the interview, revisiting some materials. During the journey, she took out a book and started reading, taking advantage of the time.

The driver’s skills were excellent, and the car drove smoothly. Suddenly, the driver stopped the car. Freya looked up and asked, “What’s wrong?”

“There are people blocking the road ahead,” the driver said.

Freya lowered the car window and looked outside. Indeed, the road was filled with people, as if they were gathered to witness something.

“I’ll go and check the situation.” Said the driver.

Freya nodded and continued reading her book. Soon, the driver returned after assessing the situation and said, “Someone has collapsed on the road.”

Freya looked up, and in the next second, she placed her book on the seat, opened the car door, and walked out. She squeezed into the crowd and saw an elderly person lying on the ground, their hair white and mottled.

“Make way, make way. I’m a doctor, let me take a look,” she said. Upon hearing her voice, everyone made space for her. She waved to them, “Please give me some space, don’t crowd around so closely. Give the patient some fresh air.”

Everyone stepped back voluntarily. Freya gently laid the collapsed person flat on the ground. She first checked their breath and listened to their heartbeat to determine the cause of the collapse. If it was due to low blood sugar, cervical spondylosis, or emotional excitement, she could administer treatment by pressing the Renzhong acupoint or stimulating the Yongquan acupoint on the soles of the feet. If it was a case of cardiac arrest, she would have to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), allowing the blood to flow back to the brain and promote cerebral blood circulation to aid in revival.

After Freya’s professional judgment, she determined that the patient had fainted due to the second cause. Therefore, she proceeded with the second method of treatment. With her professional care, the collapsed patient slowly regained consciousness. At this moment, an ambulance arrived. Freya helped to place the patient into the ambulance before leaving.

The onlookers dispersed, and the road cleared, allowing Freya’s car to pass smoothly. Due to the delay in saving the person, she arrived late. When her name was called, she wasn’t there, so she sat in the waiting room, waiting until everyone had left and no one called her before she inquired about it.

Freya realized she had arrived late.

“You’re here for an interview, and yet you can’t even be on time. How can you be a good doctor?” The interviewer said with a stoic expression, even a hint of sarcasm.

Freya explained, “I encountered some… ”

“Don’t make excuses for your lack of punctuality.” The interviewer glanced at her and said, “You can leave.”

Freya refused to give up. She wanted to seize this hard-earned opportunity!

“Please give me a chance. I have prepared a lot for this interview…” she pleaded.

“That’s your problem. You were late, you missed your time slot. It’s your own fault. If you really cared about this interview, you wouldn’t have been late,” the impatient interviewer said. “If you keep bothering me, I’ll have security throw you out.”

Freya stopped in her tracks, afraid to move forward, feeling a sense of disappointment in her heart. She sighed, feeling frustrated that this precious opportunity had slipped away. She walked out of the hospital and stood on the steps, taking a deep breath. She couldn’t help but feel a sense of injustice. If it was because she didn’t meet their requirements, it would be understandable, but she didn’t even get a chance to interview. She couldn’t pursue her dream of becoming a doctor. What was the point of dreaming?

Thinking of this, she couldn’t help but feel dejected.

As she descended the steps, ready to leave, she heard voices behind her and turned to take a look. It was the elderly person she had just saved. Clearly, the elderly person had also noticed her.

Freya had no intention of speaking. After all, it was just a simple act, something she did as a doctor’s duty. She turned her head and took the final step.

“Hey, wait!” the elderly person called out to her.

Freya turned around and asked, “Are you calling me?”

The elderly person approached and asked, “Are you here because you’re sick?”

“No, I’m here to apply for a doctor position. But I was late, so…” Freya helplessly glanced at the interviewer. It was all because of his cold and harsh attitude that she didn’t get a chance.

The interviewer furrowed their brows. “Mr Garner, do you know her?”

The director nodded. “I had a sudden heart attack, and coincidentally, I ran out of my medication. She saved me.”

The interviewer looked at Freya and said, “So you were late because of that?”

Freya nodded. “Yes.”

She was amazed that the person she had saved turned out to be the director.

“Why didn’t you say that earlier?” the interviewer asked sternly.

Freya couldn’t help but think, “Did he give me a chance to explain?”

She wanted to explain, but she was interrupted, wasn’t she?

“Come with me to my office,” the director said.

Freya saw an opportunity and naturally followed him happily. The interviewer glanced at her one last time. He appeared to be in their forties, with distinct features and sharp eyes. His eyes were so piercing that one couldn’t stare directly into them. Freya lowered her head. For the first time, she felt a bit intimidated by someone.

They soon arrived at the office. The director turned to the interviewer and said, “Sivin, you can go and attend to your work. I’ll have a private conversation with her.”

Sivin Peters didn’t say anything and turned to leave.

“Please have a seat,” the director said.

Freya graciously sat down.

“You’re here to apply for a position at Harmony & Mercy Hospital. Do you know what we excel in?” the director asked.

Freya had done her homework.
