Chapter 210 An Ending Through Murder
Colton was caught off guard by the attack. Feeling a sharp pain in his back, he turned around, “Arwen…”
Before he could finish his sentence, Colton saw the knife clenched in Arwen’s hand, his pupils shrinking in shock, “You… you wretched woman!”
He immediately reached for Arwen’s hand, but Arwen was determined to do whatever it took. There was no warmth in her eyes, only intense hatred. Betrayal of this magnitude was something she couldn’t tolerate. Her hand tightened, slipping away from Colton’s grasp. Without hesitation, she viciously plunged the blood-stained blade into Colton’s heart, “Colton, I ask myself, have I ever betrayed you? But how have you treated me?”
Blood flowed from Colton’s wound, quickly soaking his clothes in a sea of crimson. Colton lost the strength to fight back, his pained gaze fixed on Arwen, “You… you heartless woman…”
“Heartless?” Arwen sneered twice, “My heartlessness was forced upon me by you!”
Colton mustered the last of his strength and tried to choke her, but he couldn’t summon enough force. Arwen knew he couldn’t do anything to her, so she remained calm. She even chuckled coldly.
“Colton, when I die, I will make sure you pay for what you’ve done.” Her eyes were filled with indifference and ruthlessness. At this point, she knew there was no turning back, no other path for her to choose.
“I have never suffered losses or been humiliated. But because of you, I have lost face. Being scolded by a little girl is the greatest humiliation I have ever endured.”
“Vile woman.” Colton’s face drained of color, his vision darkening. He had lost too much blood.
Arwen swiftly pulled out the knife. The wound on Colton’s chest gushed with even more intensity, soon forming a dark red pool on the floor. Colton collapsed onto the ground. A loud thud echoed through the room.
Expressionless, Arwen grabbed a piece of paper and wiped the blood off the blade. She walked out of the house, locked the door, and drove to the secret love nest of Colton and Elara.
Elara, wearing comfortable home clothes, lounged on the couch, watching TV and snacking on fruits, completely at ease.
The doorbell suddenly rang. She didn’t move, asking, “Who is it?”
No one answered. Then, the doorbell rang again. Impatient, Elara got up, wearing her slippers, and walked over. Through the peephole, she saw Arwen at the door.
Thinking that she now had Colton as her support, Elara was no longer afraid of Arwen. She simply opened the door. The door swung open, and Elara stood there, arms crossed, looking smug, “What are you here for? Begging for mercy? Let me tell you, I won’t show any mercy. And by the way, if you don’t like seeing me, don’t ever show up at my place again. Otherwise, I’ll have Colton buy me an even fancier single-family villa.”
Arwen curled her lips, “He might not be able to buy it for you.”
Elara had no realization of the danger at hand, merely finding Arwen’s presence a bit chilly. She arrogantly tilted her head, “He will buy it for me, and he will divorce you, kicking you to the curb, you old hag…”
Before Elara could finish her sentence, she saw the knife that Arwen revealed from behind. She widened her eyes, frightened, and tried to run away, but Arwen stepped forward and grabbed her by the hair, sneering, “Where do you think you’re going?”
“Hmm?” Arwen leaned in close to her ear, and Elara could feel her body trembling. Arwen’s bloodthirsty smile was terrifying. “The way you tremble, it brings me so much joy.”
As she spoke, the blade in her hand pressed against Elara’s stomach. With just a little force, the sharp tip of the knife would pierce through Elara’s belly. Elara nervously tensed, “You dare? This is a crime, you’ll end up in jail…”
Before she could finish her sentence, Arwen showed her in a dozen moves that she dared indeed. Elara struggled frantically and managed to push Arwen away with her brute strength. But Arwen pursued relentlessly, causing a tumultuous ruckus in the room.
Arwen grabbed hold of Elara’s clothes, her other hand holding the knife poised to strike at her body. Elara couldn’t dodge in time and was stabbed in the side. Arwen seized the opportunity and continued to stab her several more times, until Elara showed no signs of struggle.
“You think you can challenge me? You’re not worthy! If I hadn’t fallen into Elijah’s trap, I would make you suffer a fate worse than death. But I don’t have time for that now. If I die, I’ll deal with you first, those who betrayed and bullied me.” Arwen stood up, wiping the blood off her face, her smile sinister and cold like a devil.
She dropped the knife from her hand, letting it fall to the floor with a thud. Instead of feeling satisfied, she tore Elara’s clothes apart and viciously kicked her body several dozen times. She calmly walked into the bathroom, washed her hands and face, and tidied herself up before leaving the room. She got into her car and glanced up at the floor where Elara lived, then started the engine.
She drove to Headence Group. By now, Thorne had returned from Eastsun Group, looking lost and disoriented as he sat in his office. Suddenly, the door was pushed open, and he angrily reprimanded, “I’ve already said it, I don’t want to see anyone…”
“It’s me.” Arwen walked towards him.
Thorne didn’t bother hiding or pretending to be calm anymore. “Mom, something has happened. The component developed by Eastsun Group, it contains prohibited substances…”
“Thorne, don’t be scared. Stay calm and listen to me.” Said she.

“Listen to what I have to say. We have been framed. Eastsun Group is a trap…”
“Is it Elijah?” Thorne suddenly realized. “I’m going to find him…”
“No, don’t.” Arwen held onto her son. She knew that Thorne was no match for Elijah.
“I don’t have much time. Now, listen to me. Prepare a contract immediately, transferring everything from Headence Group to me.”
Thorne quickly understood and said, “I can’t do that. How can I just hand everything over to you…”
“Thorne!” Arwen scolded her son loudly. “I won’t be by your side anymore. You mustn’t act impulsively and think twice before acting. And be wary of Elijah, don’t let your emotions cloud your judgment, just like now.”
Thorne looked at Arwen, his eyes filled with determination.
Arwen hugged her son tightly. “I have no way out now, but I have made up my mind. I will bear all the consequences and protect you from any harm.”
Thorne, a grown man, had tears welling up in his eyes. “Mom…”
Arwen took a deep breath. “I should have known all along that this would happen sooner or later. It’s my retribution. But you’re my son, and I will keep you safe.”
She let go of her son and said, “Time is running out, go and take care of it now.”
Thorne hesitated.
“Listen to me, it’s getting late!” Arwen gave him a push.
Thorne had no choice but to go and take care of it. Arwen had planned it all along, that was why she killed Colton and Elara swiftly, because she knew she wouldn’t survive. The only thing she couldn’t bear to leave behind was Thorne Silverton.
“I’m sorry, I couldn’t secure a better future for you…”
Thorne shook his head. “No, I understand. You always had my best interests at heart.”
Suddenly, an alarm sounded downstairs. The entire building seemed to be surrounded. Arwen signed her name, and at that moment, the office door was forcefully thrown open!
