You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 220 A Dog Bit Me

Freya was shocked for a few seconds before instinctively pushing him away.

“What’s wrong with you? Are you out of your mind?!” she scolded.

What did it mean for him to suddenly hug her?

She was angry.

What did he take her for?

Because Freya had her back turned, the approaching person couldn’t see her expression.

They could only see Ronan, with an annoyingly smug smile on his face.

Ronan whispered, “I’m sorry.”

Freya glared at him and said, “You better agree to your mother’s surgery as soon as possible.”

After saying that, she quickly walked into the hospital through the back door. Little did she know, if she had turned around, she would have seen Elijah’s dark and gloomy face at that moment. Ronan had done it on purpose just now. Seeing Elijah’s arrival, he held onto Freya and hugged her, deliberately provoking Elijah. He hadn’t gained any advantage over Elijah, so he wanted to give him a hard time.

Seeing Elijah’s scowling face, Ronan felt a lot better. Since his mother fell ill, he hadn’t smiled once. It was rare to have such a carefree smile, and he pretended to be kind and said, “Don’t misunderstand, I’m here because my mother is sick. Freya was just comforting me. You shouldn’t be so jealous or angry, right?”

Xander looked at his smug face and raised his hand. Elijah raised his hand to stop Xander. “Don’t bother hitting him. It would dirty your hands.”

Xander pulled back his hand and snorted coldly. “Shameless. You know she’s already married and has a child, yet you still cling onto her. Either you’ve never seen a woman before, or you have no morals. Is that how your mother taught you? To seduce married women?”

“What did you say?” Ronan’s face immediately turned serious.

If Xander had only insulted him, he might not have been so angry. But insulting his mother was a different matter.

“You can’t hear what I said? Are you deaf?” Xander didn’t fear his anger.

Ronan rushed forward and grabbed his collar, angrily saying, “You’re asking for trouble.”

“I don’t think you can beat me,” Xander said fearlessly, with victory already in his grasp.

After all, he knew a thing or two about fighting.

Ronan couldn’t swallow this insult and threw a heavy punch at his face. If he couldn’t even stand up for his own mother, what kind of man was he?!

Xander hadn’t expected him to throw a punch.

He was momentarily stunned before launching a counterattack.

The two big men wrestled with each other.

Elijah stood by, furrowing his brow. “Xander, we have important matters to attend to.”

He meant that there was no point in wasting time on these meaningless things.

Therefore, Xander directly knocked Ronan down. Ronan, who was used to a life of luxury, was naturally no match for him.

Xander warned, “Stay away from Freya in the future. She belongs to Mr. Silverton.”

After saying that, he walked over to Elijah and wiped the corner of his mouth, “I shouldn’t have bothered with him, but I can’t stand his behavior.”

Elijah didn’t say anything. After all, Xander was standing up for him.

Elijah took a step towards the back door, while Freya was working on devising a surgical plan, a task entrusted to her by Dr. Peters. She stared at the computer, fully focused on her work. She didn’t notice anyone at the door. It wasn’t until Elijah walked up to her desk that she saw him, “What are you doing here?”

Freya stood up unexpectedly and quickly put on a smile, “You’re not here to pick me up from work, are you?”

Elijah got straight to the point, “I want you to come with me on a trip abroad.”

He had initially come to inform Freya that he would be going out, leaving her and Kai behind because it would be inconvenient for them to come along. He thought he would come back soon. But then he found out that Ronan’s mother was being treated at this hospital. And when he saw Ronan hugging her, he thought it would be best if she came with him.

Freya had taken over a year off from work, and she had only been back for a few days. Moreover, the department was still short-staffed, so she couldn’t easily take time off.

“Is there something very important?” she asked.

She didn’t really want to take leave.

“I’m quite busy right now, and I might not be able to take time off. I’ve just started here, and I don’t want to leave a bad impression on my superiors…” Said Freya.

“I’ve told you before, whatever hospital, whatever position you want, I can give it to you,” Elijah interrupted her.

Freya was infuriated by Elijah’s attitude of being able to obtain anything with power and money.

“Elijah, I have my own dreams too. Not everything can be measured by money and power. Is it only in your world that money and power are everything?”

Elijah looked at her for a couple of seconds, and finally said nothing before turning and walking away.

Xander glanced at Freya as if he was blaming Freya for not knowing how to be grateful.

Freya was also stunned for a moment. Did she say something too harsh? She didn’t have time to think and chased after him. She didn’t want to argue with Elijah.

“Freya,” Dr. Peters Xiwens walked over, “Have you completed the surgical plan I assigned you?”

Freya was caught off guard.

At that moment, Dr. Peters continued, “The patient has agreed to the surgery. Call and check if there’s an available operating room.”

Freya looked at Elijah walking away and decided to explain later when she returned.

She nodded, “Alright, I’ll go and ask.”

Fortunately, there was an empty operating room, and it was immediately arranged. On Sivin Peters’s side, they took Ronan’s mother to the operating room.

When Freya approached, Ronan grabbed her, “The surgery must be successful.”

Freya said, “Please trust Dr. Peters.”

Sivin Peters was the surgeon, and she trusted him. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

“What happened to your face?” Freya asked.

Xander replied, not in a good temper, “A dog bit me.”

Freya didn’t have time to dwell on this. “I need to go in.”

She sterilized herself and entered the operating room. The anesthesiologist had already administered anesthesia to the patient.

The patient was already in an unconscious state. Freya assisted with the pre-operative preparations. She checked all the equipment. And the surgery began.

However, as soon as the patient’s chest was opened, Dr. Peters’s hand started trembling. It wasn’t performance anxiety, but rather an essential tremor that he had been actively treating. This was the first time it happened during surgery.

“Dr. Peters,” Freya also noticed and asked worriedly, “Are you alright?”

Dr. Peters looked at Freya and said, “You take the lead.”

“Me?”

“Yes.”

“I’ll be right by your side. Don’t be afraid.” Said Sivin.

Freya nodded. This was a rare opportunity to practice. She calmly said, “I will do my best.”

With Dr. Peters by her side, she felt more confident. She stood in the lead surgeon position. Calm and focused, she was skilled in handling surgical tools, but she hadn’t performed a heart surgery before. Throughout the entire surgery, Sivin Peters hardly said a word because Freya was doing a great job.

Finally, the sutures were completed, and the surgery ended successfully. The patient was sent to the Intensive Care Unit. Sivin Peters nodded repeatedly at Freya. “You’re a talented player.”

“You’ve taught me a lot.” Replied Freya.

Sivin smiled and didn’t say anything. He had considered Freya as his successor. If his condition couldn’t be cured, he might not be able to perform surgeries in the future.

This time, fortunately, Freya caught the opportunity, and everything went smoothly. But next time, it might not be the case.

“Can I leave work a bit earlier today?” Freya asked, as she wanted to go back and explain everything to Elijah.

Sivin Peters was agreeable today, “You can, but this won’t be the norm.”

Freya happily replied, “Great.”

She finished her work and got into her car when her phone suddenly rang.

Freya answered the call. On the other end, Zane’s voice came through, “Freya, I’ve got some information for you from the investigation you asked me to do.”
