You Complete Me novel (Skylar and Coralie)

Chapter 232

Chapter 232

"Skylar Holland? He's here? No way! He's never been to a small auction like this."

Xenia frowned.

Skylar was an esteemed figure in A City. Logically speaking, he wouldn't attend such an insignificant

auction.

"It can't be wrong. It must be him."

Coralie couldn't help but feel her heart beating faster when she thought that she was in the same

auction with Skylar.

She was very worried that Skylar would be angry because she was stealthily selling Grandmother

Holland's bracelet.

"If he bought it, the bracelet would return to its rightful owner. I've also saved money."

Holding Coralie's arm, Xenia thought it was a good thing.

"I'll go back to the hospital first. Thank you for today."

Coralie looked at Xenia next to her.

Although the bracelet was bought by Skylar in the end, Xenia's initial intention was good.

Coralie had to thank Xenia no matter what.

"You're welcome. I didn't help much anyway."

Holding Coralie's arm, Xenia walked out and drove Coralie back to the hospital.

......

Just now, Skylar was in the VIP room upstairs. On the huge screen in the private room, Skylar

examined the emerald bracelet and confirmed that it was the one which Grandmother Holland gave

Coralie.

He knew this because there was a stain of amber on the emerald bracelet. The shape, size, and

position of the amber stain were exactly the same as the one on the bracelet belonging to Grandmother

Holland.

After Skylar won the bid for the emerald bracelet, he went down to hand in the money and took it away.

He found the auction manager backstage and demanded, "Where is President Lowell now? I want to

see him."

The manager of the auction saw that it was Skylar and Sabella, the leading figureheads in the business

world. Neither of them were easy to deal with. He quickly said respectfully, "President Holland, please

wait a moment, I'll ask for you."

Sabella saw that Skylar's expression was very harsh. She guessed that this bracelet had something to

do with Coralie.

She had been with Skylar for a while and found that Skylar had always been poised, but he had an

exception—

It was Coralie Chariott.

He would be capricious when it came to matters pertaining to Coralie. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

The manager made a phone call. After confirming it repeatedly, he came over and said to Skylar,

"President Lowell is attending a business banquet in the Hilton Hotel. Do you need me to call..."

"I'll go now."

Before the manager could finish speaking, Skylar had already left his office.

Sabella trailed behind silently.

When Skylar walked to the side of the car, he looked at Sabella beside him and said, "Go back to bid

on the oil painting. I have something to do."

Sabella shook her head with a worried expression on her face. "President Holland, that painting is not a

big deal. Let me follow you. I'm familiar with President Lowell, so I may be able to speak to him for

you."

Sabella's tone was very gentle. She didn't pressure Skylar but brought up her own use.

Skylar and Augustine Lowell, Xenia's grandfather, had not socialized with each other. After hearing

Sabella's words, he unlocked the car and said, "Sorry, I'll buy the painting for you later."

"It's my honor to help you, President Holland."

Sabella smiled and got in the car.

She had always been gentle. When Sabella was with Skylar, she never put on heavy makeup. It was

always light makeup.

Sabella thought this was what Coralie looked like.

Skylar drove the car all the way to the Hilton Hotel. On the way, Sabella cleverly called the hotel's

reception and asked which banquet hall Augustine was in.

When Skylar went with her, Sabella, like a guide, took Skylar all the way to the banquet hall where

Augustine was.

When Skylar entered, Augustine was talking to others, but Skylar could not care about it anymore. He

went directly to Augustine, took out the emerald bracelet and asked, "President Lowell, could you

please explain where this emerald bracelet is from?"

Augustine was a little surprised when he saw Skylar walking towards him with the emerald bracelet in

his hand.

After all, Augustine was just auctioning the thing and he didn't want to get embroiled in Skylar's and

Coralie's business.

"I got it from a pawnshop owner."

Augustine held a glass of red wine and smiled frankly.

He didn't look like he was lying at all.

"Which pawnshop?"

Skylar wanted to know where the emerald bracelet came from.

"Where did Coralie lose the bracelet after she fell into the water? Or... perhaps she's not dead, but her

life is so difficult that she had no choice but to sell the bracelet," Skylar thought.

If it was the second case, Skylar felt that it was better to find her as soon as possible.

"The Sidley Pawnshop house next to the Municipal Hospital."

Augustine didn't hide anything and articulated the address clearly.

"Municipal Hospital?"

When Skylar heard the word "hospital", his first reaction was that something had happened to Coralie.

Skylar thought that she must have been afflicted with an illness or had come across an accident and

she had to pawn the bracelet to receive medical treatment.

Augustine, including Sabella, who was standing on the side, saw the panic on Skylar's face.

"Yes."

Augustine nodded.

Skylar looked at the bracelet and frowned. After apologizing to Augustine for disturbing him, he left

quickly.

Sabella, who followed him, said politely to Augustine, "Thank you, President Lowell."

Looking at Skylar who left in a hurry, Augustine took a sip of red wine and picked up the phone to call

the boss of the pawnshop to tell him what he should and shouldn't say. Then he asked him to open the

door for Skylar.

Indeed, as Augustine expected, Skylar went to the pawnshop right after he met Augustine.

After the pawn shop owner received a call from Skylar, although it was almost eight o'clock in the

evening, he still opened the door.

When he saw Skylar's car coming over, he stood at the door and bowed. "President Holland, President

Lowell asked me to wait for you here."

When Skylar got out of the car, the pawn shop owner wanted to invite him into the reception room.

However, Skylar was racing with time. He took out the bracelet and asked, "Who gave this bracelet to

you?"

Now Skylar only had Coralie's matters in his mind, and he didn't want to delay for a second.

"Hey, isn't this the emerald bracelet that I got at a high price?"

Augustine had told the pawnbroker before that as long as he kept the fact that he received the jade

bracelet personally, he could flaunt his own acting.

So the pawnshop owner pretended to be surprised first.

"Who pawned this?"

Skylar asked impatiently again.

"It was a woman, maybe less than 30 years old. She was very anxious that day when she told me that

the child was ill and was in need of treatment, so she came and sold the bracelet."

The boss also told the truth.

After all, Augustine said that with Skylar's ability, he would find out the truth sooner or later, so it would

be futile even if he lied.

A woman, less than 30 years old, treating her child's illness.

In Skylar's view, if Coralie was still alive, these three points would all make sense.

"It must be her."

Skylar said with certainty. He put away the bracelet and ran to the Municipal Hospital next to him

without driving the car.

In the past two years, Skylar had never been as impassioned as he was today.

Skylar even thought that as long as he went to the hospital, he would definitely see Coralie.

Sabella also followed. "President Holland, there are so many patients in the hospital. Do you know

which one is the lady who sold the bracelet..."

"There are only that many wards anyway. I'll search one by one. I'll find them sooner or later."

At this time, Skylar was not in the mood to think about anything else.
