Chapter 17 Flowers For Hernoveldrama
He masked his emotions and spoke coldly. Adrian nodded respectfully and set the file carefully on the desk.
Theo picked up the file, skimmed through it briefly, and tossed it aside. His sharp features remained cold and unyielding as if carved from ice..
"Mr. Gray, should I send a copy of this to Young Mr. Gray as well?"
The question had barely left Adrian's mouth when he was met with a chilling glare. Adrian shuddered and immediately lowered his head, not daring to meet Theo's gaze.
"He caused the problem himself, so he'll have to bear the consequences alone." The low, frigid voice slipped from his lips, devoid of any warmth.
As the memory of Sierra's teary but determined face from the previous night resurfaced, his heart involuntarily tightened.
Theo abruptly stood up and ordered, "Get the car ready. I'm going out."
Adrian was confused but knew better than to ask. He obediently followed after him.
Sierra sat on a bench in the park not far from her home, tilting her head back as sunlight streamed through the branches above and fell gently on her. It felt like a dream.
Just three days ago, she had been overjoyed, eagerly anticipating Benson's proposal. Yet, in three days, everything had changed.
Sierra had grown up with Benson, his name intertwined with every memory of her youth. She clung to the warmth he once gave, unable to free herself from the past.
Benson had once been her light, brightening her dim world. But at some point, that light had shifted away from her and illuminated someone else. Tears slid down her cheeks despite her efforts to suppress the pain. She had given her all to Benson, offering him her unwavering sincerity and affection. However, her devotion had been cruelly disregarded.
A man sat quietly inside a black Lincoln, his dark eyes fixed on her from a distance. His hands slowly clenched, his knuckles turning white.
Watching her bowed head and sorrowful expression, he felt a sharp pain in his chest. He remembered how Sierra's eyes once reflected only Benson, leaving no room for anyone else.
He had been jealous, heartbroken, and deeply pained, but he had never dared to disrupt her happiness.
All he had ever wanted was for Sierra to be happy, her face always adorned with a smile, but Benson had broken her heart.
Damn it.
The tension in the car thickened like an approaching storm. Adrian shivered and stole a glance at Theo's frosty expression through the rearview mirror. After hesitating for a few moments, he finally asked cautiously, "Mr. Gray, would you like to go down and check on Ms. Shaw?"
Theo's expression hardened as he bit back his hesitation. “She wouldn't want to see me right now,” he replied.
Sierra was proud. She didn't like showing her vulnerability in front of others. She needed time to process her grief and let go of the pain before embracing a new chapter.

Theo raised his gaze and noticed a little girl selling flowers nearby. A faint glimmer flickered in his dark eyes. Sierra wiped away her tears and prepared to leave when a young girl in a pale yellow dress ran up to her, holding a bouquet of fresh flowers in her hands. "Here. These flowers are for you." The girl held the bouquet out to her.
Sierra blinked, startled. “Why are you giving these to me?"
“Because I saw you sitting here looking sad, and I wanted you to feel happy again."
