I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 146

Do You Love Him?

Lily said expressionlessly, "Later? Maybe we'll go shopping later. I've had my eye on a few jewelry pieces, but my money's been tight lately..."

The other person probably said something satisfying to Lily as she smiled, "Alright, I'll reluctantly accept it then. We'll talk later, okay?"

The call ended, and Lily put down her phone, a lingering smile on her face. She looked at Harper and finally broached the topic she wanted to discuss today, asking in a low voice, "Harper, are you still comfortable living where you moved?"

Harper met Lily's eyes. It had been several days since she moved out, and it seemed impossible for them not to notice, but neither Paul nor Lily had asked her directly, so she hadn't brought it up.

At this moment, facing Lily's question, she felt a bit at a loss.

She lightly bit her lip and asked, "Lily, will you and Paul blame me?"

"Of course not. Why would you even think that? Have I been too hard on you?" Lily smiled gently, her words carrying warmth.Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

Harper shook her head. "No. You've always been the best to me."

"You dare say that in front of Paul?" Lily teased her.

Harper stuck out her tongue mischievously and replied, "Even though the place I'm living in now is smaller, and I have to do everything myself, it's not too bad. I got used to living alone when I was in college, so it's fine."

Lily nodded lightly and asked, "Did Benjamin do something to make you angry and cross your bottom line? That's why you moved out?"

"No." Harper lightly pressed her lips and replied calmly, "I just felt like we both needed some time to cool off."

"Just to cool off?"

Harper fell silent, furrowing her brows as she glanced at Lily involuntarily.

Lily also gazed at her, her eyes filled with concern. "Harper, tell me the truth, do you really not want to be with Benjamin anymore? Do you want a divorce?"

Harper lightly pressed her lips, her expression somewhat distant, her voice low and slow. "Yes, I do want a divorce. I just think it's best if we go our separate ways. After all, he doesn't love me. He's got feelings for someone else. And if we keep going like this and have a child, the kid won't be happy either."

Harper had nearly forgotten how to feel about having a family, but the Martin family made her experience the feeling of having harmonious parents and caring grandpa.

The only regret was that Benjamin didn't love her.

Perhaps that was just how fate arranged it. After all, nothing could be perfect, and not everything could go her way.

"Harper, is it because he doesn't love you that you're insisting on the divorce?"

"Not entirely. Maybe I just think it's better to separate."

"Do you love him?" Lily gazed at her without blinking, her voice gentle.

Harper was stunned slightly, biting her lip, feeling somewhat flustered.

She certainly wouldn't tell Lily she loved Benjamin, but she didn't want to lie either.

While she remained silent, the waiter brought the food.

After that, she smoothly changed the subject, and Lily didn't pursue it further. She didn't know if Lily had forgotten or chosen not to pressure her.

After they finished eating, Harper used the excuse of going to the restroom to pay the bill. Lily was a bit displeased when she found out. "How can I let you pay?" "Why not? Didn't you say we're both girls? If so, then we're equals, right?"

"If you put it that way, I won't argue," Lily smiled.

They then went to a nearby mall. Lily wanted to buy a few sets of clothes for Scott. They walked hand in hand, like a mother and daughter.

They then entered a custom brand store and saw someone familiar.

Harper was stunned.
