Chapter 3323
Audrey was shocked.
"Is there no way to let Uncle True live a few years more, Doc?"
Doc replied, “Lilian and I have used all our best medicine on him. We've done our best. Patrick could only live this long because of his firm conviction and having us maintain his health.
"Although your mom's not avenged, he's relieved to see you all doing well and having some influence. He thinks he can leave the revenge to you all and finally reunite with his master in heaven.
"Since his conviction is gone, he won't be able to live for much longer. Besides, he's almost a hundred years old. Even if he leaves one day, you'll have to accept it."
How many centenarians are there in this world anyway?
Audrey looked toward Patrick's room worriedly.
Doc knew that she feared Patrick would pass away in his sleep. He reassured her by saying, "He'll hang on as he hasn't passed the evidence to you. He's been hiding it himself. We've never asked him about it or seen it."
To be honest, Patrick had never trusted the masters fully.noveldrama
They did not blame him for that.
They did not intend to meddle in his business anyway.
It was the same for Laurence's case. Although he was on a revenge mission, the masters had never considered lending him a helping hand. They simply taught him what they knew. It would be up to Laurence to decide if he wanted to exact revenge in the future.
Doc did not even think of interfering in his student's vengeance, let alone Patrick's mission to avenge Tiara.
"We won't stay here for too long. Once we go back with him to retrieve the evidence and pass it to you, we'll leave him in your hands for some time." Audrey replied, "Of course. Uncle True was my mom's right-hand man and my elder. He shouldn't travel too much at his age. You can leave him here. I'll make sure to take good care of him."
"With your kindness and attentiveness, we'll be able to leave knowing Patrick is in good hands.
"He mentioned that he wants to be buried next to your mom after he passes away. He said he'll watch over her and never let her be in danger again if they were to meet in their next lives."
Audrey agreed to that request.
Uncle True was the person Tiara had trusted the most. He was also her most loyal employee.
Audrey would fulfill his wish of wanting to protect her mother even after death.
"You should rest too, Doc. Thank you for accompanying Uncle True in this cold weather."
"This temperature is nothing. We live in a place of ice and snow every day. We're used to the cold. This weather doesn't even come close to what we experience daily."
Despite saying so, Doc still went ahead to rest in his room.
Although the masters were much younger than Patrick, they were old too.
Perhaps, it was because they had been living carefree lives after retiring and did not travel as much as they did in their younger days. Traveling to Wiltspoon at their age did take a toll on their bodies.
However, the masters had been pushing themselves to look good before the youngsters.
More importantly, legendary stories about them were still being told.
Their abilities had been greatly exaggerated to the younger generation. They were close to being described as heavenly beings.
After the masters went to rest, Audrey went downstairs.
"Mom."
Her children looked toward her worriedly.
She said softly, "Don't worry. I'm fine. What haven't I experienced before?
"Uncle True is old and has a weak body. He's asleep now. Try not to go upstairs and disturb the elders' sleep."
Audrey looked toward Serenity and said, "You'll get tired quickly because you're pregnant. Go home with Zachary to rest now. If you're up for it, then come over to have dinner with Uncle True tonight.
"They won't be staying here for too long."
Meeting all the masters at once was a rare opportunity many could only dream of.
Patrick and the masters had already occupied the guest rooms of the Stone family.
Serenity replied, "I'll come over in the evening, Aunt Audrey.
