Chapter 3324
Audrey agreed.
"You can come over with Sonny after picking him up."
After a pause, she added, "Doc said Uncle True's days are limited. We should let him meet Sonny."noveldrama
Everyone exchanged glances with each other.
Serenity asked, "What illness does he have?"
"It might have been a side effect from his past injury. The elderly usually fall sick easily. Uncle True is very old."
Audrey sighed and stopped talking.
The legendary doctor had even told them to be mentally prepared.
"I'll come over in the evening after picking Sonny up."
Serenity understood that Patrick was of advanced age. At this age, they usually passed away once their wishes were fulfilled.
"Should I ask Liberty to come back?"
"Not yet. Uncle True hasn't given us the evidence. I don't think anything will happen for now. I'll invite him to stay here the next time he comes. We'll take care of him until he leaves us."
Patrick was not married or bore any children.
He viewed Audrey and Lisa as his own.
Audrey felt it was only right that she took care of him until his final moments.
The youngsters were busy with work and did not have time to look after Patrick.
On the other hand, she and her husband were retired and spent most of their time at home. They could take care of Patrick.
Patrick could probably even live longer with them accompanying him.
"I guess Liberty can meet Mr. Patrick when she returns from Jensburg."
"Okay. Keep Uncle True's presence here a secret. Don't tell anyone about this. Belinda is still looking for him. She might've gotten some information too."
Everyone replied, "We'll never let anyone know."
Audrey trusted her family. Their lips were sealed tight.
Since they had promised her, they would not tell a soul.
"You can give Caroline some hints and observe her reaction, but don't make it too obvious."
Audrey wanted to test her cousin.
"I'll let Liberty know when I call her tonight," Serenity agreed.
Liberty was only free during nighttime.
“Go back and have a good rest. Take Seren back, Zachary."
Zachary and Serenity stood up and bade the Stones goodbye. He held her hand and they left together.
"You can go to work, babe. I can go home by myself."
Zachary embraced Serenity and let her lean against him. He said gently, "I won't be going back to the office. Nothing will happen even if I'm absent for a day or two anyway.
"I'll go home with you. Let's have some rest before picking Sonny up and coming back here in the evening."
Serenity glanced up at him before burying her head in his chest again.
"Thank you, babe. You've been by my side no matter what happened. You gave me a shoulder to lean on and a sense of security."
Zachary chuckled. "We're husband and wife. We're family. You don't have to mind the courtesy with me. It feels awkward.
"I've said that I'll be your pillar of support for your entire life."
Serenity said no more and continued hugging his waist.
Having Zachary was the best thing that could happen to her.
