Chapter 176 You Can Handle It?
Allison furrowed her brow, took a deep breath, and looked up at Carl.
Seeing him nod, she finally spoke, "The drones are armed. If they start firing, you all need to stay clear!"
Landon was momentarily stunned, staring at the drones in disbelief. There was no visible weaponry, so how would they fire?
His team members were equally curious.noveldrama
"Mr. Wells, whose drones are these? If they're so powerful, why do they need us?" one of the team members questioned.
Landon cleared his throat and shot them a stern look. "Stay sharp, everyone. If the drones start firing, keep your distance from them."
The team nodded, their focus shifting even more to the drone.
At that moment, the drones' feed showed numerous figures moving and getting closer to Landon and his team.
"Find cover. They're heading our way and will be here soon," Landon instructed.
The team quickly concealed themselves as the drones ascended and turned off their cameras. They hid in the jungle, soon hearing footsteps approaching.
Allison turned off all the drones' lights, leaving them hovering silently. "Can you identify who they are?" Alexander asked in Allison's ear.
Allison shook her head. "I can't be sure, but their weapons are military-grade. They might be regular soldiers. Also, Mr. Wells, be aware they have sniper rifles."
Landon tensed up immediately. There were over twenty of them, and this was still Novaria's territory, meaning these people had crossed the border. This wasn't just a simple incursion.
Landon tried to send a message on his phone but found there was no signal.
"Ms. Bennett, please inform Alexander that we have a border breach. We need immediate backup," Landon said.
Allison looked at Alexander, who nodded.
"I'll notify the relevant authorities right away," he said.
With Alexander's promise, Landon felt a bit more at ease.
As the group drew nearer, Landon's team donned their night-vision goggles. There were twenty-seven people in total, twenty-two of whom were armed. The remaining five seemed to be hostages, wearing uniforms.
"Mr. Wells, those uniforms-they're our missing colleagues!" one of Landon's team members exclaimed.
Landon clenched his fist. "Check your weapons and get ready to engage."
Seven against twenty-two heavily armed opponents was no small feat, especially at
night in unfamiliar terrain. They could easily be overwhelmed.
Allison, hearing Landon's command, shouted, "Felix, Sabrina, each of you take a drone and prepare to fire!"
"Roger that, Allison!" they responded.
Allison operated one drone herself, wincing from the pain in her shoulder.
Alexander noticed her sweating and grabbed her wrist. "I'll handle it. Just tell me what to do. Your arm needs to rest."
Carl also came over. He was good with computers, but operating a drone wasn't his thing.
Could Alexander handle it?
Everyone watched Alexander with skepticism.

Allison asked, "Are you sure you can handle this?"
Alexander gave a confident, albeit slightly annoyed, smile. "Of course. Trust your man, Allison."
Allison couldn't help but smile despite the situation. "Alright, Alexander. The drone is equipped with a laser cannon. It has a range of over 150 feet, so use it wisely."
Landon and his team overheard this, their initial fear turning into excitement. They had never seen such advanced weaponry in action.
Allison trusted Alexander's abilities and instructed him on the controls. As the enemy drew closer, Landon aimed his weapon.
"Don't waste ammo. Make every shot count," Landon ordered.
Suddenly, a silenced gunshot rang out.
"Sniper! Mr. Wells, there's a sniper!" a team member shouted.
Landon saw several of the enemy leaders fall. He took a deep breath and gave the command, "Open fire! Watch the hostages-don't hit our own!"
Allison also gave the order. "Felix, block the reinforcements!"
Felix eagerly complied, maneuvering the drone. The drones illuminated the area, and explosions and screams filled the night.
Two drones hovered high, transmitting the scene.
Alexander felt a chill, grateful they weren't enemies. Otherwise, Landon and his team would be obliterated.
Landon, equally impressed, knew there was no time for awe. "Rescue the hostages, quickly!"

His team moved in, pulling the hostages to safety. The sniper continued firing, and Landon identified his location.
"Allison, I think your man is the sniper!" he said.
Allison and Carl breathed a sigh of relief.
Felix, enjoying the drone's firepower, continued his assault.
The ambushed enemies regrouped, their firepower intensifying.
"Mr. Wells, we're running out of ammo. Their firepower is too strong!" a team member reported.
Elijah, meanwhile, had relocated, dodging enemy fire.
"Landon, find Elijah and tell him the drone is about to fire. He needs to get clear!" Allison instructed.
Landon sprinted up the hill, finding Elijah nearby. Elijah aimed his gun at Landon.
"I'm Landon, a friend of Ms. Bennett!" he said quickly.
Elijah was surprised that these people were connected to Allison.
"The drone's about to fire. We need to move!" Landon urged.
"My leg's broken. I can't walk," Elijah replied.
Landon hoisted him onto his back and ran downhill.
"Everyone, fall back!" Landon commanded.
His team, with the hostages, began their retreat.
