Chapter 177 Participating in the Competition
Allison stared at the screen, a red line marking the danger zone.
The room was dead silent, everyone glued to the display.
"Sabrina, Alexander, fire!" Allison ordered.
In a flash, the drones controlled by Sabrina and Alexander unleashed their firepower. In just thirty seconds, the battle was over. The destruction was unreal.
Landon and his crew were blown away. As they left, they couldn't believe the sheer force they had just seen. Even without their help, Allison's team had it all under control.
Elijah, with his busted leg, was rushed to Skycrest. At 2 AM, Allison walked into the operating room; Alexander was waiting outside with Landon by his side.
"Alexander, can we buy those drones?" Landon asked, eyes full of hope. Alexander rolled his eyes. "Can you even afford them?"
That kind of high-tech gear would cost more than Landon could ever dream of.
"Wait for Allison to come out. It's her invention," Alexander added.
Landon's jaw dropped. Allison had designed such advanced machinery at her age?
Alexander was just as impressed, having piloted the drones himself. He knew they were only scratching the surface of their potential.
"Alexander, you're one lucky guy," Landon said.
Alexander gave him a knowing look. He didn't need reminding.
Inside the operating room, Allison examined Elijah's injuries, her face serious.
"What happened?" she asked.
"I stepped on a landmine. It was a trap!" Elijah replied.
His lower leg was a mess, nerves shot. Allison spent four grueling hours fixing the damage. By the time she was done, her hands were shaking, her body soaked in sweat.
"You never listen. You know your condition, yet you still went out there," Henry scolded Allison, treating her injuries with injections and meds before letting her go.
Stepping out of the operating room, Allison leaned into Alexander, exhausted. "Alexander, I'm so tired," she whispered.
Alexander, heart aching for her, carried her back to their hotel. She was out cold the moment she hit the bed.
Watching her sleep, Alexander sighed. He decided to skip washing up, wrapping his arms around Allison and falling asleep beside her.
At 9 AM, they had a competition. Allison could only sleep for an hour. At 8 AM, her phone alarm went off, but she snuggled deeper into Alexander's embrace.
"Too noisy," she mumbled.
Alexander smiled, looking down at her. If only every morning could be like this! Waking up to Allison's face would always make his day.
"It's time to get up. We have a big day ahead," he said.

Allison reluctantly got up, wincing from the pain in her shoulder.
"Maybe you should skip today. I can have James handle it," Alexander suggested. Allison shook her head, instantly alert. "No way. We've worked too hard for this." She headed to the bathroom to freshen up, but the pain in her arm was too much. Alexander stepped in to help her wash her face, his careful touch making her smile.
"I feel like I'm being pampered like royalty!" she joked.noveldrama
Alexander said with a smile, "Guess I just love pampering you."
Dressed in her uniform, arm in a sling, Allison arrived at the competition venue. Yasmin immediately called her over.
"Allison, you almost missed it. We wanted to do a run-through," Yasmin complained.
Allison ignored her, finding a seat. "I told you I wouldn't be participating because of my injury. Complaining to me is pointless."
Yasmin's frustration grew.
One of Yasmin's admirers chimed in, "You're taking up a spot without doing any work. You're just messing with us!"
Allison didn't bother to argue and looked at Cameron instead.
Seeing this, Yasmin quickly added, "Allison, you might not know, but Cameron has joined the judging panel. He's already a judge, so only a few of us will be participating in this competition! He's so amazing!"

Allison remained unfazed. "There are eight judges, and Cameron isn't one of them. He's just part of the committee, not a real judge."
Cameron smiled, sitting next to Allison. "Are you avoiding participation because you're afraid of being found out? Or are you hiding something?"
Allison didn't even look at him. "You're wrong. It's not fear; it's disdain. I don't need to participate to win. Do you believe me, Cameron?"
Cameron felt uneasy. Allison's confidence made him wonder if she knew something.
The first round wasn't for Allison's school. Fifteen schools and organizations competed, divided into three groups. Allison's team was in the last group.
The first two rounds went smoothly, each with a clear winner. When it was Allison's group's turn, she found a seat.
"Allison, this is your part. You can handle it, right?" Yasmin handed her the task.
Allison laughed. "You're giving me the most crucial part, and I'm injured. Aren't you afraid we'll lose?"
Yasmin, unfazed, replied, "You're the best, aren't you? This should be a piece of cake for you."
Allison reviewed the task. It was indeed manageable. She called over a classmate. "You type, and I'll dictate."
Unable to use her arm, Allison guided her classmate through the task. They finished quickly, much to Yasmin's annoyance. Yet, Yasmin had to complete her own part. Under Allison's direction, Willowbrook High School was the first to finish, impressing the judges with their innovative solution.
However, Teddy, sitting on the panel, was fuming.
"Giving up a prestigious role to lead a school team. Allison, you've really outdone yourself," he muttered.
What do you think?
